This is an absolute "must-do" if you are in Taipei! I contemplated other ways to go about seeing Taroko Gorge and I am so glad we went with this option. The process of flying there and taking the train back was perfectly timed and the early wake up time for the flight was definitely worth it. The tour guide Josephine was excellent, very energetic and attentive to the needs of the group. The lunch definitely exceeded my expectations for a meal served on a group trip. It wasn't your typical touristy establishment and the food was delicious. One thing I will say is that the marble factory was overpriced (which I know the tour guide/company can't really control). I loved some of the things I saw but I passed because of the price. I found them for significantly less at another location so I am glad I waited. Overall we were very pleased with this trip and I would recommend to those looking for an escape from the city and wanting to experience the beautiful nature that Taiwan has to offer.
A fantastic and comprehensive tour around the beautiful Taroko Gorge. I was convinced to book this trip after reading such fantastic reviews and hearing about it and its stunning scenery from the Lonely Planet guide, and I do not regret a thing. A fantastic, well-planned day out with an incredibly helpful and accommodating tour guide to ensure we got the best out of the day. Would highly recommend to other travellers. Thank you!
Overall a very nicely organized tour of Taroko Gorge, but beware that it's a tiring trip. However, at least on the way back to Taipei you can snooze (it's about a 2 1/2 hour train ride back). Our tour guide, Jane (I think), was excellent - full of information and her English was impeccable (as was her Japanese as well). The lunch was very good as well and they were very accommodating to folks with certain diet requirements. Definitely a must see if you get the chance to visit Taiwan. If I had to nitpick anything - would by-pass the trip to see the ocean (a beach is a beach is a beach) and spend the extra 20 minutes or so at the Eternal Springs (pictured at the left). The time allotted was too short if one wants to climb up to see the 2nd or 3rd Pagodas on the hill.
What a wonderful trip. Talk about value for your money! Everything was extremely well organized, the beauty of the area was outstanding and the lunch exquisite. I couldn't be more satisfied. The Taroko Gorge is a 'don't miss' area of Taiwan.
Was a very good, well organised tour. We were in a group of 10 or so which meant you did not get lost I within a large group. The tour through the gorge was excellent and we were not rushed at any point. Josephine, the tour guide oozed enthusiasm and it came through. Well worth the money and recommend to any.
The scenery was fantastic and the guide, Josephine was very knowledgeable as well as super friendly. She is a ball of fire and entertaining. Highly recommended!
This was an excellent tour. Josefina, our guide was fun and made many extra stops to allow us to see additional interesting things. It was well worth it and i would recommend this tour. I was worried about the local plane but it was all well organized and fine!
My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and we would like to recommend this sight seeing day trip to anyone.
This tour is a great opportunity to experience Taroko gorge as a day trip from Taipei. The east cost of Taiwan is stunningly beautiful and should not be missed. The tour guide Josephine is very energetic and really brings the place alive.
The tour was just as advertised - amazing! The views were stunning, the weather was perfect, the pace was great (not too slow, not too fast), group size was small and personable, the guide was phenomenal. A great way to see the gorge...the small shuttle allows you to get farther into the gorge and much earlier than the big tour companies, so you get to see all the scenery without the crowds. My only complaint - the obligatory stop at the "local" tourist shops and marble factory, amusing to some, corny to most, but adds some local character. Overall, a great trip, would definitely recommend.
