After arriving at Port Tampa Bay, visit the 250,000-square-foot Florida Aquarium, one of the top aquariums in the country with over 20,000 sea creatures, including sharks, otters, alligators and much more.
Visit a variety of exhibits, like the Wetlands Trail. Follow the wooden signs along this state park trail, past alligator-infested waters to the river streams where otters play and explore. In the Journey to Madagascar exhibit, discover ring-tailed lemurs, hissing cockroaches and colorful chameleons, plus reef fishes, corals, giant clams, tortoises and more.
Then stroll along the boardwalk and touch a variety of different species of stingrays and sharks at a 5,000-gallon touch pool called Stingray Beach. Look for white-spotted bamboo sharks, coral catsharks, southern rays and more. And don’t forget to check out the two-acre, outdoor water fun zone for children called Explore-A-Shore.
Want to go scuba diving without getting wet? Check out the one-of-a-kind view at the Coral Reef Gallery, one of the most beautiful and diverse ecosystems in the world. It simulates a 60-foot dive starting in shallow-water reefs and descending into deeper waters — 100 species in a 500-gallon tank. This is a habitat normally only explored by experienced divers.
Be entertained, be educated and be inspired by this beautiful Tampa Bay aquarium.
