We picked probably the worst possible day to do this tour. The clouds moved in that day and socked in the whole mountain and we could not see a thing. But because we had such a wonderful guide, he made it fun for us and made us laugh the whole trip. He was full of information about Japanese culture and history that we really did not mind about not seeing the mountain. Eventually it broke through the clouds for a brief moment and the guide gathered us up so that we could all see it. He made an unexpected stop at a beautiful shrine that made the trip definitely worthwhile. Even though the trip was pretty much a bust, I would give it a 5 because the guide went out of his way to ensure that we had a good time and a great trip!

This was a day made truly memorable. It helped that the weather cooperated - it was a clear, sunny day when we left Tokyo. But that notwithstanding, for anyone with limited time in Tokyo, this is certainly one option to consider. Our tour guide spoke excellent English and was very informative on a range of subjects. Do dress warmly or at least bring a coat along as it is quite cold once you arrive at Mt. Fuji's Fifth Station - we were literally almost blown down by the strong winds at one point. To do all of this in one day - visit the Fifth Station at Mt. Fuji as well as the Visitor's Center, take the cable car, take the ferry on Lake Hakone and then ride the Bullet Train, made for a fantastic day. Two suggestions - 1. don't opt for the tour lunch as there are plenty of other restaurant options and the food is delicious! There is also an incredible bakery if you're not that hungry and just want to sample different pastries. 2. Pay the approximately 1000 yen surcharge and opt for a first class seat back to Tokyo on the bullet train - it's worth it for the solitude. It's a short trip back but worth the extra yen. All in all, this is one of those few excursions you will look back on and be happy you took as it would be impossible to try to do this all on your own and it takes you away from the non-stop flurry of action that is Tokyo. Would recommend this to everyone and anyone!

Terrific scenery and a good meal. The bullet train was a little overcrowded but a minor aspect of otherwise a great day.

The trip was fantastic. The guide was really funny and was really informative all day. He helped with arranging assistance on the train with a wheelchair passenger when returning to our hotel making it an easier experience than we had expected. Definitely a sight to see.

Another great tour. The tour guide was excellent, as was the scenery. It was a long day but well worth it.

The guide was the best I've come across for any tour I've ever taken. Absolutely well-informed about world and Japanese history, eager to answer all questions and very humorous. Enjoyed Mt.Fuji and the Shinkansen 700 ride back to Tokyo. The Japanese lunch was wonderful as well. I will surely recommend this trip to anyone planning to spend more than a day in Japan!

The tourist guide speaks English very fluently. The places we went to were all gorgeous! We were lucky that the weather was excellent and Mt. Fuji was very clear!

For a first time traveler to Japan, Mt Fuji is a must see there. The weather on top was so cold that your nose will freeze. And as for the guide's recommendation, end of Oct to mid Nov is the best time to visit the mountain. Buses can still go up there, and you could easily see the top covered with some snow. We had a chance to choose our lunch Italian in our case because we didn't take the full package and it ended much cheaper than going with lunch option. The Italian restaurant was amazing! Our cruse through Lake Ashi was short but nice, and we then took a cable which was breathtaking. The return in a bullet train is a good idea, although you won't be able to see a thing outside, but it's good to reach Tokyo fast after almost 10 hours. Service was great, and the guide was one of the best we've experienced in any of the tours we had.

Great tour! The guide was very kind. This is a nice journey to take and get a break from the "effervesence" of Tokyo.
