Great excursion to one of Japan's most iconic landscapes, with the day ending in a fantastic open-air shopping mall with an unforgettable view of Mount Fuji!
Mount Fuji had the first day of snow. It was the most perfect day.
Had a great time, the guide was lovely, the bus very comfortable and the experience a must do. We did this trip the first full day we had in Tokyo and it was great to find your feet. Mt Fuji was terrific (I love horse riding and guess what was available at the visitors centre, it was fun). Lunch was delicious and very Japanese (I am a vegetarian and there was no trouble catering for that). The onsen was a must do, it was a very liberating experience.
Great tour, informative guide but didn't get to see mount fuji as it was very cloudy; very disappointing. BBQ lunch was great and the Onsen was an amazing first time experience that everyone should try at least once.
overall enjoyed the day and the entire package.
The guide was excellent, and even though the weather was rainy we had a lovely day.
The tour was excellent and so was our guide. We learnt a lot about Mount Fiji, but we weren't lucky as for the weather: it was very cloudy. We weren't able to see Mount Fuji, however, the tour was worth taking. The onsen was amazing and the mall was for every taste. I highly recommend.
I had a great time with a very informative and humorous guide. One hour at the onsen is unfortunately short, I'd prefer to take an extra 30 minutes out of the shopping, but all in all, it was a great day!
We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide, Takei, was the best - very informatve, organized, charming, and funny. The barbecue lunch was great. My niece who did the onsen was ecstatic about the experience. And she also found very good bargains of lego toys at the outlets.

The tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. This tour is quite worth it as it covers Mt Fuji, Onsen and Factory Outlets and I would surely recommend to those who have limited time but wish to cover more places. Oh not to forget must surely try the BBQ lunch...it was delicious.
The tour covered everything in the description. They were prepared for delays because of the traffic. Lunch was delicious while enjoying a view of the lake. The 5th station was packed with tourist and people preparing to climb Mt Fuji. We were given ample time to walk around and shop. I recommend getting your OMIYAGE for those back home at these shops. The onsen visit was the best part of the tour. It was the most Japanese part of this tour. Various baths, saunas, and massage pools made for a very relaxing experience. However, most of the tour group chose not to participate and just walk around shopping area. The last part of the tour was what I think most of the group signed up for. The Gotemba shopping outlet was like most other outlet malls with stores on the high end side. This is a place you would shop for yourself. It's too expensive to get gifts for those back home here.
I think this tour can be modified so that people and get the experience they want without having to ENDURE the other parts of the tour. I went for Mt Fuji and the onsen, however, I think a majority of this group would like to have bypassed this and just get to the outlet mall.
Do not go in July its the rainy season and the weather on Mt Fuji is awful but even if the weather was nice, it would have been nice to stay there longer (allotted time was 30 minutes). Other than that it was a nice tour.
A full on day trip. Enjoy Mt Fuji, even though it was hiding most of the time and the onsen experience. Didn't particularly enjoy the outlet shopping, didn't have many clothes shops targeted for age (30-40) age group but got a good view of Mt Fuji there.
The guide was excellent.
It was a great day as the weather was fine and we could actually see Mt Fuji. The guide was great - her English was ok but she made it up with sincerity and passion for her job and Japan. She even sang the 'Song of Mt Fuji' for us.
The only downside was the time at the Onsen was too short - could have done with more time here and less time at the outlets. For folks who have been to the outlets in US - they will be disappointed as the prices are not as competitive. BUT compared with downtown, the prices were good.
If you like nature that goes along with shopping, I definitely recommend this Day Trip! Although Mt. Fuji was shy enough at the 5th station, we were still able to take good photos on our descent. Delicious DIY bbq lunch. Unique Onsen Experience and Shop-running at Gotemba Outlets. Great guide Katy!
