Duration: 2 days / 1 night (approx.)
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Product code: 2136RAFT
Tackle the rapids of Diamond Creek and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Grand Canyon on an overnight self-drive tour to the West Rim. Enjoy the flexibility of setting your own timetable and the freedom to travel at your own pace as you hit the road in a luxury vehicle built for the rough roads of the Nevada desert.
You will be picked up by complimentary shuttle and taken for assignment of your automatic Hummer for the day. You will be met by a tour co-ordinator for a full orientation of the day's events and activities. It is here where all your questions will be answered before you are on your way.
Your drive to the Grand Canyon West Rim takes you across Hoover Dam, where you can stop for great photo opportunities of this and Lake Mead. As you cross into Arizona, journey through the Mojave Desert, continuing on to the Joshua Tree forest just outside of the West Rim.
Arriving at Grand Canyon West, your afternoon is free to visit Guano Point for fantastic views over the Colorado River, or head to Eagle Point - home of the Skywalk (additional cost) and Native Indian Village. Spend time at Hualapai Ranch for Cowboy demonstrations or visit the petting zoo, a popular choice for the kids. Depart Grand Canyon West via shuttle for Peach Springs, where you will spend the night at The Hualapai Lodge on historic Route 66.
In the morning take a ride to Diamond Creek, where you will launch your raft into the Colorado River. Get ready to encounter your first set of class 3-4 rapids - a taste of what lies downstream on your 5.5-hour rafting experience. After your white water adventure, you will disembark on the south side of the canyon to begin a moderate hike to Travertine Falls.
Your adventure doesn't stop there! Upon completion of your rafting experience, you will take a Helicopter ride to the rim of Grand Canyon West, where your vehicle is waiting for your departure back to Las Vegas.
