My wife and I finished our holiday in Canada with the Granville Market Food Tour. Nadia, our tour guide, was simply brilliant - an expert in her field, her knowledge on each vender/restaurant and breadth of general food understanding was very impressive. In terms of the tastings, you get a lot of them we were stuffed - and we have fairly formidable appetites. There were too many culinary highlights to list, but Lee's Doughnuts were life-changingly good.
A must for any foodie in Vancouver
An excellent way to experience the Graville Island Public Market. The tastings are well selected and sequenced to provide a complete eating experience of the best the market has to offer. Our guide/host was very personable, pleasantly enthusiastic, and most importantly knowledgeable about the food, the vendors, and the market. She managed our diverse group of fourteen effortlessly and was receptive to each person's questions and interest. An outstanding and enjoyable way to make the most of a visit to the market.
We brought our two young adult grandchildren with us on this tour and we had the best time. It was especially fun for our granddaughter who is GED intolerant. There was such a great variety of new things that she was like a kid in a candy store. After the wonderful tour with Nadia we spent several more hours there shopping and enjoying the ambience and took a variety of items mostly from the vendors we had been to in the morning back to our hotel for dinner. Thanks for such a great time!
Very well done. Worth putting high on your Vancouver to do list. Johanna was an excellent guide.
We love Manuela!!! She is lovely, considerate, knowledgeable, entertaining and provided great suggestions for restaurants in Vancouver. However, we feel that she should be allowed to taste some of the foods with us!
This was a great way to get acquainted with Granville Island, meet interesting people, and sample delicious local foods. Our tour guide, Emmanuella, was informative, engaging, and cheerful. We had a fun experience and will highly recommend it to friends.
This was a great tour and a great tour guide, Nadia! She was passionate and energetic about the food and was knowledgeable about the vendors and their products. I'm a professional cook too, so when I asked her about her cooking background she has list of impressive places that she has trained at. She also had a lot of good recommendations about local places to eat. I recommended her and the tour to other friends who were going to Vancouver.
One of the best food tours ever. Nadia was wonderful. A knowledgeable ball of energy. Would highly recommend!
Manuela was a fantastic tour guide.
Knowledgable and fun!!
Best food tour ever!
We loved this tour! Andrew was our guide and did a fantastic job. We got to try several different foods that gave us a great exposure to the area and the culture. We actually went back to the market later because we had enjoyed it so much. Come hungry! Definitely worth it.
Very fun to try many of the food items available in this amazing Market.
The market tour could not have been better. Everyone is our group enjoyed, not only the food, but the history of Granville Island, vendors and ingredients.
Johanna was simply marvelous. She did a wonderful job of forecasting what we would be doing, so there was no angst or concern among tour members. Thanks Johanna!
United States of America
We really enjoyed this tour and Manuela was the perfect guide! She made every stop on the tour fun and informative.
Everything we tasted was well worth the money and the experience. Andrew made this experience amazing! Would recommend for anyone who is visiting the Vancouver area for the first time or millionth time!
the tour was fabulous. the food was excellent and our tour guide Andy was a very funny and knowledgeable guy. The food was so good that we returned to two of the restaurants that were on the tour. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful time. Wish we could remember our guides name. He was very knowledgeable with the market. The food tastings were well thought out and delicious.
Words cannot describe how good Nadia Cameron was. Such enthusiasm and such an incredible knowledge of food and cooking, terrific personality and such a delight to be in her company. She was at home and ease with all of the "stall" holders and the small group of 7 of us. 4 of whom were chefs themselves (including my wife who was a food teacher for 30yrs) and then of course myself and another husband who described ourselves as "tasters of our wives cooking" When in Vancouver again we would certainly do another tour.
My wife and I really enjoyed going on this food tour. I had heard about Granville Island market and seen it on tv before, but had never been before and I'm really glad that my first time was on this tour. The food was great and I tried a few things that I'd never had before - the cured meats were amazing and the honey donut was crazy good. Everything was really well organized and the guides did a great job of keeping the group engaged and making food exciting. The group was pretty small, with only about 6 people, and they were all really pleasant. After the tour, we went back and bought stuff to bring home. Yes! You can take cured meats and other products back to the States! This was a great tour and we were totally filled-up by the end. I think it was a really good way to spend a couple hours exploring Granville Island and eating fantastic food.
Amazing tour and a fabulous way to experience Vancouver's Granville Island market. I had visited the market previously, but this tour really was the best way to visit and I can highly recommend it. The tastings were generous and very, very tasty. You're definitely full at the end of this tour! The tastings we had that day included fresh crab cakes with optional wine pairing, cured meats, local cheeses, delicious coffee and hot chai tea, local produce and a huge honey glazed donut. Our 2 guides were very personable and knowledgeable about the foods and the market and things ran super smoothly. The group size was small and very manageable, plus I brought along my 4 month old baby and there were no problems at all! Fabulous afternoon!
Johanna was a very good guide and she had many good stories!
Every tasting was good and informative.
I would have liked to have one seafood tasting also.
This was the highlight of my Vancouver stay. Nadia the guide was fabulous and very informative. The food was divine and the markets are out of this world. Mr Lee's donuts are the best in North America. For fruit lovers like me a punnet of the best raspberries sent me to Fruitopia! This would be my number one recommendation to anyone who visits Vancouver. Make sure Nadia takes you and shares her foodie highlights with you. YUMMO!
