Flight superb, Peak to Peak Gondola not for those that fear heights.
Train trip slow but scenic.
Remember that flight is weather dependent. Not sure what happens if it is cancelled.
The tour was well organized and comfortable. The views from both the train and the plane were spectacular. Highly recommended.
Best trip I have been on.Took the seaplane from Vancouver to Whistler awesome trip up the valley and then over the snowcovered moutains a wonderful trip, also flew over the waterfall. We had plenty to do in Whistler Peak to Peak gondola Blackcombe Mountain to Whistler Mountain and whistler hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics. Then at 1500 we boarded the Rockey Mountaineer back to Vancouver tremendous trip.
Altogeather a lovely trip
Great tour shame about viators not answering my questions. Book the tour but be aware that your on your own dealing with each individual element of thd tour. If you like cable car rides do the peak2peak ride glass bottomed car and buy your tickets on the train. You need around 5 hrs if you want to do most things in Whistler.
Everything we hoped it would be. Great views, food, and service on Train. Float plane ride was awesome for the return.
Great scenic tour. Travel through the mountains one way and over them the other. Plenty of time too at Whistler for sight seeing and the Peak-2-Peak.
This is one of a life-time experience! We were lucky with the weather - a sunny day perfect to enjoy the great views from the dome. Service was impeccable on the train, from start to finish – a nice breakfast, complementary drinks, and full attention from the crew. Once arriving in Whistler, we took the Gondola up - views were amazing! A 360-degree panorama, snowy peaks all around. The Gondola is worth it, bringing you to the top of the mountains, and we hiked some of our way down – perfect combination! The Peak-to-Peak Gondola is really special and going from Whistler to Blackcomb is really neat. The return on the float plane was a great end – we flew by glaciers on the left, the sea on the right and even got a nice sunset over Seattle. Planes are tiny but comfy and pilots definitely know their way around. Totally recommend this tour to anyone!
Had a very nice start of the day, around 8am, in the glass-top train which is one wagon out of about 10 on the whole train. The setting is first class and we were welcome with drinks and served breakfast on comfortable seats... One nice but kind of odd thing was after breakfast, being offered complementary alcohol drinks (not used to get on cocktails or beer at 10am!). The main aspect is off course being able to discover the scenery of this historical railroad through the glass-top which is really quite an experience, enhanced by the fact that the wagon is also taller than the other regular wagons. One of the highlights is about 30mn after departure, when entering the bay where the Squamish River meets the Strait of Georgia. Here the tracks follow the water and let us discover beautiful islands with distant snowed peaks in the distance. A nice note was also that the train slows down for points of interests, allowing passengers to admire the scenery. In Whistler, we enjoyed a very nice 4-5 hour gondola-hiking-chairlift tour of the resort, back just in time around 4pm for our float-plane flight back to Vancouver. The weather did hold up perfectly for a smooth and scenic flight with the Rockies on the left (east) and the ocean on the right. Awesome day!
This tour is well worth the price. The scenery and the great service on the glass dome train was wonderful. Whistler was beautiful and the gondola ride to Whistler peak was fantastic. The float plane back to Vancouver was awesome. This was the best tour I've ever been on. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back one day.
the trip was everything we expected and more from the moment we were picked up at the hotel till the second we stepped off the plane in Vancouver Harbour the "Rocky Mountaineer was unbelievable with picture postcard views for the entire 4 hours, Our hostess on board the train was so informative and helpful and the sevice was A+. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, we arrived at Whistler.the cablecar ride to the summit was beautiful, but then we too
k the "peak-to- peak" gondola and the experience reached a new level. finishing off with a floatplane ride over the mountains and a landing in Vancouver Harbour was the icing on the cake. Out of the entire 31 days we were away from our home in Australia - this was my wifes favourite experience!!!!
wonderful trip with good guides and excellent scenery. the floatplane flight was great. great way to see the sights. whistler was great
everything we hoped for and more. the staff was extremely helpful and friendly
Excellent trip, well worth the money. The trip to Whistler on the Rocky Mountaineer was great, very informative hostess and light breakfast was also good. Try to get on left hand side of train for best views. We didn't get to do the Peak to Peak in Whistler as the mountains were in cloud, so struggled to find much to do in Whistler for 6hrs, but walks around there are lovely. Floatplane trip back to Vancouver was great, really good pilot who explained a lot about the area. Our only grumble is with Viator as the arrangements were not very clear at all. The only information we had for the early morning meeting place was "Downtown Vancouver". Not very helpful and we had to call Viator the day before to get more info. We were put on hold for 25mins and eventually found out where pick-up was from, but we could have done without that extra hassle and stress on holiday. Not very well organised but a lovely trip
Enjoyed the rail trip. It was amazing and fabulous . Of course the road trip up was amazing . Had a wonderful driver who feed us with all the wonderful information . The sea plane trip was amazing except that the smell of petrol inside the cabin makes the flight a little nauseous though . Overall gd
