This is a MUST! If you go to beautiful Vancouver...you HAVE to take this trip. This is a LIFETIME BUCKET LIST EXPERIENCE! Checked off ours...what a ride...I do recommend taking the Seaplane up in the morning to Whistler...train ride return Orientation of the Sun. The professional staffs are great...all you need is your camera, memory space, and battery life! My motto that I tell my wife the camera nut click away, you can always delete!
Fantastic views and excellent service by both Harbour Planes and Rocky Mountainer
The flight and train tour were amazing! Beautiful scenery! The train ride back was relaxing and the staff awesome! We would do this again.
Incredible experience and could not recommend highly enough.
The scenic trip through the mountains of Vancouver, leading up to Whistler was incredible, sights that take your breath away and followed up by a great ride back from Whistler by floatplane. I was lucky enough to get a seat in the plane next to the Pilot, Max, who talked through explaining how the mountains got the way they are and showed us sights that you would've identify just by plane alone.
For anyone that would like to go to Whistler, definitely suggest trying to book this, you'll definitely remember it.
Started the day of wonderful scenery with a fantastic train trip on the Rocky Mountaineer up to Whistler. Caught the gondola ride up to the top of the mountain where the views just got better. Then we were bussed to the float plane lake and once airborne, the views became spectacular. Doing the train first and the plane last gives you longer at Whistler. Beware of the closing time for the cable car and gondola rides. I am a nervous flyer, but the float plane flight was smooth and I was mesmerised by the views so I forgot my nervousness.
Brilliant views from both plane and train. Collected by coach and delivered back to hotel. Excellent
Train was wonderful--scenery was spectacular floatplane was incredible--loved it!
This tour was the highlight of our trip. The views from the train were spectacular, try and get a seat on the left side better views. The service on the train was excellent and a pleasant light breakfast was served. The floatplane was fantastic - I sat with the pilot so got the best views ever! Highly recommend and was worth the money. Better to go by train first as you get a bit longer at Whistler, which is touristy but you must go on the Peak to Peak gondola - amazing.
Wonderful day but feel that we should have been warned of the tremendous queues for the
Peak to Peak as it was the last skiing day when we bought the tickets from the RM hostess on the train.
A fantastic day. The train was spectacular staff great views stunning. The flight back over the snow capped mountains was wonderful.
An amazing experience, with the definite wow factor. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and the organisation was fantastic. A trip to give you lifetime memories with some of the most amazing sights your eyes will ever see.
Absolutely fantastic trip would not have missed it for the world. Everything was well organised. So glad we did it. Awesome
A brilliant day out, worth every penny.
Some advice - be aware that the weather can effect the ability of the sea planes to fly, we were postponed by one day and ended up flying to and from whistler.
Also, do the gondola ride first and then hire bikes to follow some of the trails
This was the highlight of our trip. Saw mother and cub bears from the train and the float plane was awesome. Only snag was that the shuttle bus driver from the train told us that if the weather came in the flight may be cancelled and that he finished at 3pm. He omitted to tell us that if the flight was cancelled there would be someone there to meet us at 5.10pm to bus us back to Vancouver. This gave us a few anxious moments, but the information booth in Whistler gave us the facts.
120% RECOMMENDED!!! The SPECTACULAR veiws are not to be missed!
We travelled a long way from Australia and our group of 4 had the most wonderful day. The float plane from Vancouver to Whistler was a fantastic experience (magnificent views) and landing in the heart of Whistler on its main lake was breathtaking. The train trip back to Vancouver was also fantastic - very informative and great service by all of the staff. Highly recommend this trip.
Trip was amazing BUT nearly didn't get there as Viator made an error I. The booking so the float plane was full. Lots of phone calls and Harbour air (see plane company) got me a seat on the return trip. Lesson, check, check and double check. Highly recommend!!!!!!!
Everything worked out really well. Planetrip took 30 minutes. I had forgotten that do not like the slightest little bump, felt a bit sick, but really it was not bumpy - I am a sensitive human being. Whistler was nice to have seen. Very small, must have been over crowed during the Olympics. Bring a jacket - it was freezing cold the two first hours. Train trip home was nice and very well organised. Food was ok too.
We enjoyed this trip a great deal. The train was excellent and the gondola ride to the top of Whistler was spectacular. We took a float plane back to Vancouver and my husband got to be the co-pilot for the trip. He was so excited. Thanks.
Fantastic day, the flight organisation is very professional, so exciting taking off on Vancouver Bay and then up over the Rockies on a perfectly clear day, I was overwhelmed by the views. 5 minutes later landed at Whistler, ok it's an artificial village but it is very picturesque and 5 hours just chilling and eating before shuttle bust takes us to Whistler station to connect with the Rocky Mountaineer, again very professional if a little over the top. Each carriage has a steward, ours was a little too chatty on a 3 hour journey but spend time in the open carriage and just admire the scenery and then settle in for evening meal. A fabulous day, well worth the expense and something I will remember for the rest of my life. Excellent
The plane... (5 Stars) Probably the highlight of our vacation! (We did the plane in morning/train evening)... Professional operation, informative pilot, and great views from the plane (especially flying at 7300 ft over 6500 ft. mountain tops!) ... Best of all, I was invited to sit in the co-pilots seat which made the flight a special experience!
The Train (4-1/2 stars)... Overall, a better experience that I was expecting! Comfortable coaches, snacks, drink/salad on PM return. Really great views. Only minor negative, was that it was almost a 3-1/2 hr trip (the train only averaged 25-30 mph)
Whistler (3-1/2 stars)... OK. A few shops (they are all the same after a while), pretty good lunch on the patio (65 degrees/sunny!) Mostly just walked the main road and ended up waiting about 45 min for the eve bus to go back to train.
Viator (5 stars)... As usual, everything was WELL PACKAGED and PLANNED by Viator, and all at fair prices... Love these guys!
