Whistler Mountaineer Train Journey

Choose from two levels of service when you travel on the famous Whistler Mountaineer from Vancouver through the Rocky Mountains to Whistler Village. Travel one-way, or save money with a roundtrip ticket. Choose to visit for the day, or extend your stay to explore the pretty village a little further.

Depart from North Vancouver Rail Station for early morning views of downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park as the train hugs the scenic waterfront of West Vancouver's exclusive residential area. Pass through Horseshoe Bay Tunnel, travel along the eastern shores of Howe Sound and enjoy stunning views of the ocean and mountains.

As you near the town of Squamish, look out for the impressive cascade of Shannon Falls and the spectacular dome peak of Mount Garibaldi. Pass through the yards of the West Coast Rail Association, before climbing through the Cheakamus Canyon, where the river below tumbles through a craggy gorge. Cross over the pinnacle of Brandywine Falls before arriving at Whistler.

Choose from two options:

Coast Classic was originally built in the 1950's but have been completely refurbished and updated for your comfort. With assigned seating, large picture windows and superb leg room and a light meal served at your seat, your Coast Classic experience will provide you with a comfortable journey.

Glacier Dome is a custom refurbished classically styled single level dome coach, with beautiful full-length windows running the sides of the coach for unmatched viewing of the spectacular scenery along the Whistler Mountaineer Route. Matched with assigned seating, legroom found in first class airlines, food and beverage offerings throughout the three-hour journey and superb guest service. Includes afternoon tea of sandwiches, warm scones, strawberries, Devon cream, petit fours and specialty teas.

This tour is seasonal and operates from April through to mid October.
