Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Cicchetti and Wine Tour of Venice’s Jewish Ghetto. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
This was so much fun. Small group and enjoyed the wine tour and the Jewish ghetto. My only regret was not doing it earlier in the trip so we could of went back to some of these bars. The tour was interesting and point out some interested items in the area. Especially the place where you can take your empty bottle and the will fill it up with wine.
tour very informative drink food a walk and nice company this is a must we had Francesca as our guide who was brilliant.
Our guide, Chiara, was very knowledgeable about the area. The food and wine good. It is a good way to meet people from other countries.
We really enjoyed our Cicchetti and Wine Tour of Venice's Jewish Ghetto. Lara was very personable and knowledgeable and did a great job. We enjoyed that the tour wasn't rushed and that we were able to enjoy our time not only learning about the Jewish Ghetto but meeting and visiting with others on the tour as we enjoyed our visits to the three wine bars. We recommended this trip to other friends who will be visiting Venice!
This was a terrific tour. The guide was really passionate about her tour. We enjoyed each location enjoyed the tastings and enjoyed the wine. We walked through the Jewish Ghetto which was very interesting and again the guide was very passionate about the history.
My boyfriend and I got into Venice from New York at 11:30am on a Friday, mid-September. This was the first time for both of us in Venice and this was the first tour we took. We thought it would be a good idea in order to learn about the city, explore the Jewish Ghetto, and taste some local cicchetti and wine. It turned out not to be a good idea, but a fantastic idea!!!
Lara was our tour guise and she was really great. She is very friendly, personable, engaging and has a vast fund of knowledge. She's from Venice at each place we stopped, she'd give us the local perspective on things. She was very candid and truthful in her answers to all of our questions about the city and what it's like to live in Venice compared to where we all live. We had a great group of 8 2 ppl from South Africa, 2 from Australia, and 4 of us from the USA which I think that added to make the tour even better. This tour started at a cicchetteria for food and prosecco. From there we walked around the Jewish Ghetto and Lara told us the history of the Ghetto and the Jews in Venice. After the Ghetto, we went to the next 2 cicchetteria for a glass of wine in each and more food. All of the places we stopped were in Cannaregio. We were all having such a good time in each of these places, eating, drinking and talking, our tour lasted a bit longer than scheduled but no one complained. Lara told us how Venice was built and why the meanings of the names of the streets/canals and introduced us to a Spritz.
I would definitely recommend this tour and Lara to anyone who wants to experience not only some delicious Venetian food and wine and prosecco, but also learn about some of the history of the Jews in Venice. It would have been nice to have one of the kosher places as a stop on this tour, but since it was given on a Friday evening and everything closes for Shabbat, that wouldn't work. I do think it's something the tour company should consider including.
Our tour guide Francesca was pleasant and very, very informative. She was excellent and would highly recommend this tour! The area is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing.

Excellent tour - we really enjoyed it. Yummy food and very good wine. Really gives you a taste of Venice while learning about the history of the Jewish Ghetto. A good substitute for dinner. Our guide was knowledgeable and easy going. We really enjoyed this tour.
, Riccardo was very knowledgeable of the area we had good time
Will do it again if back to Venice. Grazie Riccardo
This was a very informative tour and our guide did a very good job. I was a little disappointed that there was a 15 fee to change the date. It was pouring down rain the day we were to tour and we changed the date. There was not way to pay the fee except by ccard and there was no way to email it to the company through a secure site or email. We had a phone plan that charged by the minute and we did not want to use this. They would not allow us to pay the guide and so the guide called them when we arrived and we clarified the situation. Fun tour and good information given about the Ghetto also. Jack and Carolyn/Dallas
This was a fun and informative tour. Ricardo was great - patient, engaging and well-informed. The small group size enabled us to get to know each other a bit and enjoy the evening.
Excellent Tour. Joining instructions perfect. Size of group brilliant for type of tour, Guide excellent- very knowledgeable and humorous. Some fascinating insights into the history of Venice plus a very pleasant culinary experience. Excellent overall experience.
We really really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Francheska was really fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us really interesting information. The stops in the three local bars were great and the food delicious. Highly recommend this tour!!! 5 stars!! Highlight of our time in Venice
This was a great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Venice and provided great insight into day-to-day life in Venice. There was a good pace to the tour and she took us to some great food and historical spots. I was concerned that the tour might be too far off the beaten path but it wasn't. We got a great peek into Venice nightlife, had great food, and saw a lot of interesting things. I definitely reccomend this tour.
The only negative is that the tour is on Fridays and Saturdays and everything is closed for the Sabbath.
A wonderful experience with a talented tour guide!! Highly recommend this tour to see, taste and explore the area.
This was great fun and the appropriate thing to do on a Saturday night in Venice. Emanuella was a fantastic host and we enjoyed the Ghetto tour as well as quafing wine and cicchetti in three very interesting bacari.
This was a well organised fun tour. A good group, lots of conversation and pretty tasty food. Emmanuelle was a super guide with a lovely manner.
This tour was fascinating as we learnt about the history of the Jewish Ghetto as well as experiencing some of the local wine and cicchetti which were delicious. We wouldn't have had this experience if we had been on our own. The tour also included a lot of the surrounding area and it was interesting to see how the places linked up. The water transport described in the itinerary to reach the meeting point is expensive so check the map and walk if possible.
Loved it!! We met the guide at restuarant at the foot of Guglie Bridge with no problems. There was 8 of us on this tour all of which were very friendly and the guide was great too. We went into the Jewish Gheto which we loved and it was somewhere we returned back to during our trip. It has some nice restaurant/bars and great shops. All the bars we went to had a great atmosphere, wine and Cicchetti. The cicchetti was really tasty but it does only give you a flavour of Venice so id eat something before to soak the alcohol up; if like us you remained in the last bar for a few hours after. I'd recommend this tour earlier in your trip.
This was our first tour in Venice (on the evening of our arrival). It was a most pleasant way to get a feel for the city and have some nice eats and wine too. Francesca (with the darker hair) was a delightful hostess and guide - she took us to some very authentic eating/drinking establishments. This experience and history lesson was a great start to our vacation. I recommend this tour and Francesca.
Fun tour! Tour guide was very knowledgeable about this area and Venice as a whole. Good wine, good walk and ample delicious snacks.
The guide was very informative and the three stops at local bars were great fun
The tourguide was knowledgeable and personable. The small size of the group (4 plus guide) was also a plus. Snack quantity was ample enough to be called "dinner."
