Super tour and tour guide (sadly can't remember her name though) learnt lots of local history and thoroughly enjoyed watching how this lovely glass was made in Murano - Burano very pretty too.
This was an excellent tour. Murano and Burano can only be reached by boat. Our guide was Alessandra, and although she didn't take us around either island, she gave us so much interesting information about the history of Venice and the two islands while we made our way to the islands. The glass blowing demonstration at Murano was amazing, and the items for sale gorgeous. You can't believe they were blown from glass. From there we made our way to Burano, which is about the beautiful lace that is made there. We had a demonstration from one of the seven women who create the lace. What is most beautiful about Burano are the brightly painted houses reflected in the canals. We had plenty of time to shop, eat gelato, and take photos. It was a lovely day and a lovely tour.
The guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly. The glass works were amazing and the scenery on both islands breath taking.
Murano and Burano are the gems of Venice. What a worthwhile tour. Yes they can be a little pushy in the glass factory, but, all worthwhile for the charm, beauty, and simplicity of Burano. Enjoy !!!!
Great tour. Wonderful skills shown by both islands. Burano is a lovely colourful place. Only problem was we spent a lot of money!!
In contrast to the walking tour of Venice ..this one was 5 star. Our guide Alessandra Perucci was very knowledgeable and was able to impart a lot of information in a very understandable manner. She went over and above her job with first helping 2 of our 7 member tour get back to Venice from Murano before going to Burano. The rest of us needed to be back to our cruise ship by 7:30 and this particular tour got back to Venice at 7PM We had booked a private water taxi to return us to the ship but the directions to it were confusing. Alessandra walked with us to the taxi port, spoke to the manager there and stayed with us until we were in the taxi. Truly...a great blessing!!
This was a wonderful tour! Our tour guide was lovely and shared so much information about the islands of Venice. I highly recommend it.
This was a good tour, especially if you have limited time in Venice. The guide was outstanding and gave a really good commentary about each area as we passed. The glass factory was amazing, and even though we didn't buy anything the artistic pieces are well worth a look.
Burano was lovely and the buildings with all there vivid colours were beautiful, the lace is amazing.
On the way back to Venice our guide took the time to recommend places to eat and other sites to see.
Highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide was awesome - very knowledgeable about Venice and answered all of our many questions! The Murano tour was alright - if you have the $$ to spend on the pieces themselves. The highlight here was Burano! Beautiful little town with free time to explore, it was a real gem. Also got to ride on a small 12 person boat which was an experience within itself.
Our tour was great! A lot of other reviews said that they rope you into buying their products and you don't get to explore the islands. This was not true. After 20-30 minutes at each Islands specialty, you have plenty of time to explore on your own. Christina was the best! Hope that you get her!
We did not make our Milan tour. After a sleepless night flying from Phila, PA USA to Milan, IT, my husband and I crashed at our hotel for about an 1 1/2hrs. By the time we went out to take the tour we could not find the bus. If we have any change of a refund of our fee it would be much appreciated.
We did however make our tour to Murano and Burano. The tour was a great boat ride to both islands. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and kept us turning from side to side on the boat to look at all the sites she was pointing out to us along the way. Our tour of the Murano factory was very interesting. Watching a master make glass is incredible. Viewing the VERY large pieces of Murano and the lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling where amazing.
Burano is a small island with homes of every color. Watching a woman sit and create a beautiful piece of lace was interesting. I was surprised to lean that each differenty stitch used in a piece of lace is done by a different woman. Each woman specializes in a particular stitch. The 2 island tour was well worth the time and money. It helped alot to have a glorious day for our boat trip.
The trip to Murano Glass was very interesting to see the glass made and to view all the different sort of items for sale. Burano Lace tour was fantastic as we had spare time to walk around Burano which is a beautiful place well worth seeing. The ferry/boat ride was fantastic the guide was very informative and told us all about the different places along the way there and then on the way back when we came a different way home. Well worth the experience as the guide made it a fantastic and was a great day made so by the great company on board.
