What You Can Expect

Private Tour: Venice Half-Day Walking Tour

Ponte dell'Accademia, Venice

When booking your private tour, choose from five departure times, which range from the morning to late afternoon, and let your guide know what you want to see. Your guide will devise a flexible itinerary to suit your preferences.

On the day of your tour, meet your guide in central Venice at your selected time, then set off to explore. If you’re staying near St Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco), you might choose to view some of Venice’s stunning churches, such as the Church of San Zaccaria and Santa Maria Formosa Church, before entering the bustling Rialto Fish Market to see what’s been hauled in from the Venetian lagoon.

While your guide will not be able to accompany you into churches or other historical buildings, they will be able to share interesting facts and stories with you as you wander around Venice. Toward the end of the tour, call into a traditional Venetian bar. Relax as you sip on a glass of wine and munch on an appetizer, while chatting with your private guide.

After three hours, the tour concludes at the original departure point.

Please note: St Mark’s Square, St Mark’s Basilica (Basilica of San Marco) and Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale) cannot be visited on this tour. Churches may also be inaccessible on Sunday mornings when religious ceremonies are taking place.

Barbara provided an insider's view of Venice that was both interesting and entertaining. She was an excellent guide!!!!!

Francesca our guide was fabulous. Really interesting and definitely worth doing.
The only comment I would make is that it might be better that a table is booked upfront by the guide so that we do not have to spent time looking for somewhere to have a drink. We must have gone to 4 different place before we got a table to sit down and have a drink and snack. But all in all really good.

This tour was brilliant, we learnt so much about Venice, it's history, the buildings and the people who live in Venice today.
It was a very hot day, the short break for a drink was very welcome, before walking on for more history.
To see St Mark's Square- the people the, atmosphere was wonderful.
I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Barbara was the tour guide for my wife, two sons 17 and 15 yrs and me. She was fantastic. We all strongly recommend Barbara to anyone who visits Venice and wants to better understand Venice and enjoy some of the non-tourist centric parts of the City. Thank you Barbara.

That was an excellent experience! Our guide Barbara provided us with a great introduction to the history, culture, layout of the city. She gave us multiple suggestions for what to do, where to eat, etc That was a great idea to have this tour on the first day which helped us with the rest of the stay.

This tour was amazing! Our tour guide took us to places that are not touristy - showing us what it's like to actually live in Venice. She took us to an amazing chocolate factory and also a delicious place for snacks, and later gave us incredible tips on how to choose our place for lunch. She was very knowledgable and friendly to our 13 and 15 year old daughters. Book this tour, it is very much worth it!

Barbara was our guide and she was very knowledgeable having been born and bred in Venice. We stopped at many spots along the way including a wine bar where we were treated to wine and tapas. We went into a shop where they make and decorate face masks - beautiful! A great walking tour which gave us an insight into the life of Venetians and the history. Would recommend to anyone especially if you only have a day or two in Venice.
