Our tour guide was lovely and it was interesting. But if you have limited time, do something else.
The guide was very knowledgeable but a little hard to follow..There were so many other tour groups around us so we had to follow her closely...It would have been helpful if she had a mike and earphones for us. I didn't realize that September was such a busy tourist time in Venice..You have to be prepared to walk a lot.
It was an OK tour but would have been nice to have included other areas of the palace.
Guide was very good and spent quality time with our small group as we went through the palace. Took the time to explain something about each and every room. An enjoyable and informative tour.
This tour was very good. Our guide was very well informed and friendly. We walked around Doges Palace while listening to very interesting information. Great tour to do!
An Excellent tour - especially skip the line as it was very busy in Venice. tour guide was very good, Doges Palace and Bridge of Sighs were excellent. This is a worthwhile tour into one of the landmarks of Venice.
On the day of our visit the Doge's apartments were unavailable.
Guide was knowledgeable
The docent on this tour was very knowledgeable about the history of Venice and was able to convey information very effectively. She was punctual and ended the tour in a timely manner. It was a very worthwhile experience.
Perfect introduction to the city. I knew little about Venice's history but after this tour I can understand how the city developed. To learn that it stood alone for so long with its own government was particularly interesting. Our tour guide, Gina, was excellent. Proud of her roots and showed it. Great tour!
This tour was okay. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It's important to note that the tour ONLY includes a walk about the Doges Palace, not around Venice in general (some people seemed confused about this). I don't think the price of this tour was justified. For a fraction of the price you can get the same information our tour guide gave us from the headsets available at the Palace.
We absolutely loved our tour of the Doges palace. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting, and we learned so much about the history of Venice and the Doges Palace. It was fascinating. We also enjoyed the wonderful art in the palace, and our guide's insight into it. Part of the tour also involved crossing over the Bridge of Sighs and seeing the old prisons, all of which our children particularly enjoyed. We would highly recommend this tour.
We learned a great deal about the functionings of an ancient republic. It's good for Americans to know that we did not invent the concept.
Excellent tour - well organised and led by a local Venetian with obviously a great local knowledge and very in depth historical, socialogical and anthropological insight into the city. A great story teller who had us totally engrossed in the ways of the Doges, the running of the Palace and the Republic. A unique experience - we left feeling we knew and understood much more about this incredible city and how it functioned. Such a highlight!
excellent guide. Wish I would have been able to book the secret itineraries tour instead.
We booked this at the last minute and were glad we did. Our guide was Louisella who was very good and showed us around well. We did have some major problems getting the audio sets to work that cost about 30 minutes (that was down to the Doges Palace and not our guide). A well worthwhile tour of some really interesting and visually stunning rooms - including the clever scissor design of the Bridge of Sighs that is not visible from the outside.
