I really enjoyed this trip. There were about 10 gondolas in our group, one of which had a serenader and an accordion player. I thought they were excellent. We travelled down the Grand Canal from near St Mark's Square to just before the Rialto Bridge and then turned off down some of the smaller canals, so that we travelled in a circle back to our boarding point. I could not believe how relaxing, between fits of laughing, a gondola trip could be. I found it funny because the Grand Canal is utter chaos, with no rules about right of way or which side to keep to, and boats of all different sizes speeding past our little gondolas. A good description of the Grand Canal would be Rome on water - wonderful. I don't think a private gondola would be so much fun. This is definitely a must if you visit Venice.

We enjoyed our gondola ride very much. We were nervous about going with a group, but it turned out great. The singer was fabulous, and the crew was excellent. Go for the 8:30 p.m. if you go in May, as it was dusk when we set out and night when we finished, so we were actually able to see a lot.

This was a great experience and good for friends traveling together as well as couples. Our gondolier was charming, the music appropriate for the setting. We had nine gondolas in our group but the "musician" gondola moved around amongst the group and you never felt like you were in a group anyway. The gondolas glide through the water despite passing boats and we went on the Grand Canal and through smaller canals too. We were all lulled into quiet contemplation or conversation by our return. Venice at dusk is beautiful and mysterious. Would recommend to anyone and well worth the price!

I went on this with my mother, which is not very romantic, but even with a group of friends this is fun because it is a group of gondolas together. They have a serenade which is lots of fun. We took the evening one, just as the sun was going down. Venice is amazing and there is truly no better way to explore the inner workings of it. This tour is long enough to soak it all in and then enjoy a wonderful dinner, definitely worth it!!

This was the very first thing we did in Venice and it was simply breathtaking. I wasn't sure what to expect because it was a group ride but it was fantastic. I felt like I was right in the middle of a movie.

EXACTLY what we expected! It was wonderful, the weather was quite chilly but the ride and experience were great. I would definitely do this again!

We actually found this to be way more interesting than if we had taken a private gondola. There was approximately 8-10 boats of 6 people. In one of the boats were two older Italian men singing with an accordion they sounded awesome. The boats all travelled together through the canals. It was great!

A trip to Venice is not complete without a gondola ride. You will see the world's most beautiful city from a completely different perspective. The grand canal portion of the ride was memorable and the tour of minor canals was romantic. The music was awesome. Everybody on the tour was delighted. Even the gondoliers were singing along. I will definitely indulge myself in another gondola serenade when I visit Venice again hopefully soon.

We absolutely recommend a serenade with the gondola ride. Whether the ride is a romantic ride or pure tourism, the serenade puts you in the right frame of mind.
