Worth every penny! Very knowledgeable guides who provided an amazing insight into life within the Palace walls and life in Venice. A definite must do
We looked at loads of tours and couldnt decide which to go for, eventually settled on this one. Excellent tour highly recommended, great tour guides and much smaller group than most we saw walking about, really good for anyone who wants to see both locations and learn about them in detail, we then decided to return to the basilica to visit the museum not included on tour but highly recommended for a second visit. You wont be disappointed if you choose this tour.
Very interesting trip. Our guide Barbara was great. It is always good to see how countries were ruled in Ancient Times.
The palace was beautiful with its paintings and gold adorned ceilings. The Cathedral with its mosaics was beautiful too. A morning well spent.
This is an excellent way to see St Marks and the Doge Palace. Great value for money, very friendly and knowledgeable guides.
This was great. We loved it. It is a lot of walking, I would suggest a morning walk, so you are with fresh legs. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and would do it again.
Highly recommend! Venice is a very beautiful but very crowded city. There is so much to experience, and the best way to do that is to book this tour. We had very minimal wait times, had the pleasure of experienced, enthusiastic, well-spoken tour guides who seemed genuinely happy to be sharing their knowledge of historical and contemporary Venice. Despite the fact that there were many other tour groups, we were not rushed through any of the venues, and the guides maintained "space" so each group had its own throughout the building tours. The Walking Tour was a challenge because the streets are so crowded, but the wireless receivers and earbuds made hearing her easy even if we didn't always see her. If I can find our guides' names I will add them to this review -they deserve recognition.
We booked several Viator tours in different cities in Italy and they were all fabulous. The guides were highly educated, their command of English was great, they knew how to manage the group under pressure of serious crowds, noise, and time limits, and to top it all off, they were very nice people too. I highly recommend this tour. It is worth every penny, and it saves so much time to skip the lines. Thanks Viator.
Our guide was awesome, very knowledgeable, equipment worked well and the tour went by in a flash. A must do in Venice.
Great tour! Very professional guide. I recommend this to anyone visiting Venice. I was impressed when the guide shushed members of the public a not in the tour for being disrespectful and loud in the sanctuary of San Marco. She was also very aware of the local customs when walking through the narrow streets between canals. She shared great information on Venetian history and she was a great communicator. Bravo!
Great tour. You get a good bit of history. See the main sites. And sone of the less well known bits. The guides were great and would recommend the tours to anyone.
The "skip the line" on this is worth the cost right there. Very knowledgeable tour guides.
Small group, excellent and informative guides. Francesca was brilliant, the morning guide as well but I don't recall his name.
Very nice tour. Anna explained everything perfectly.
She was happy to answer questions, too.
This was a great experience and definitely worth it. The morning tour of the Doge's palace avoided the long lines and was very informative. Having a few hours off in between the two tours was great since it allowed us to go over to San Georgio and to have a relaxing lunch before our afternoon tour. The afternoon tour of San Marcos again avoided the long line, gave us lots of background on what we were seeing, and made the experience more enriching. But the best was our afternoon guide Rita. After the Basilica, she took us on a walking tour of the nearby neighborhood, showing us the Grimani Palace, the Greek and Albanian neighborhoods and quiet little streets and courts we would never have seen, all with a wonderful commentary on what we were seeing and making the whole experience amazing. This is the best way to see San Marcos Square/Doges Palace/Basilica and a flavor of Venice.
What a wonderful time we had... We were met on time, the headphones were fantastic as was both our tour guides, especially Louiseanna. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing all about Venice and enjoying the sights sounds and ambience .... A complete surprise. We had heard that Venice could be dirty, smelly and expensive! What we found was a beautiful clean city, not so expensive and the only smells that we came across was the tempting aroma of pizza, pasta and Wine!!!!
My sisters and I booked this tour together with our husbands (6 of us), and I can speak for them, as well, when I say that we all loved this tour. Our guide was FABULOUS, gave us a lot of information about what we were seeing, and made the whole tour interesting and fun. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get the highlights of this fascinating city.
An excellent experience . Our guides were great and their historical knowledge and insight helped us to fully appreciate both places and the city of Venice.
The tour was well planned and coordinated. Guides were great in providing information on the various exhibits. Instructions given for the meeting point was very clear.
A great tour, very informative. Both guide's knowledge of the history of the the Doge's Palace and of Venice generally was extensive. Would recommend both tours to anyone wanting history and current info. on this wonderful city.
