This was great. We loved it. It is a lot of walking, I would suggest a morning walk, so you are with fresh legs. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and would do it again.
Highly recommend! Venice is a very beautiful but very crowded city. There is so much to experience, and the best way to do that is to book this tour. We had very minimal wait times, had the pleasure of experienced, enthusiastic, well-spoken tour guides who seemed genuinely happy to be sharing their knowledge of historical and contemporary Venice. Despite the fact that there were many other tour groups, we were not rushed through any of the venues, and the guides maintained "space" so each group had its own throughout the building tours. The Walking Tour was a challenge because the streets are so crowded, but the wireless receivers and earbuds made hearing her easy even if we didn't always see her. If I can find our guides' names I will add them to this review -they deserve recognition.
We booked several Viator tours in different cities in Italy and they were all fabulous. The guides were highly educated, their command of English was great, they knew how to manage the group under pressure of serious crowds, noise, and time limits, and to top it all off, they were very nice people too. I highly recommend this tour. It is worth every penny, and it saves so much time to skip the lines. Thanks Viator.
Our guide was awesome, very knowledgeable, equipment worked well and the tour went by in a flash. A must do in Venice.
Great tour! Very professional guide. I recommend this to anyone visiting Venice. I was impressed when the guide shushed members of the public a not in the tour for being disrespectful and loud in the sanctuary of San Marco. She was also very aware of the local customs when walking through the narrow streets between canals. She shared great information on Venetian history and she was a great communicator. Bravo!
Great tour. You get a good bit of history. See the main sites. And sone of the less well known bits. The guides were great and would recommend the tours to anyone.
The "skip the line" on this is worth the cost right there. Very knowledgeable tour guides.
Small group, excellent and informative guides. Francesca was brilliant, the morning guide as well but I don't recall his name.
Very nice tour. Anna explained everything perfectly.
She was happy to answer questions, too.
This was a great experience and definitely worth it. The morning tour of the Doge's palace avoided the long lines and was very informative. Having a few hours off in between the two tours was great since it allowed us to go over to San Georgio and to have a relaxing lunch before our afternoon tour. The afternoon tour of San Marcos again avoided the long line, gave us lots of background on what we were seeing, and made the experience more enriching. But the best was our afternoon guide Rita. After the Basilica, she took us on a walking tour of the nearby neighborhood, showing us the Grimani Palace, the Greek and Albanian neighborhoods and quiet little streets and courts we would never have seen, all with a wonderful commentary on what we were seeing and making the whole experience amazing. This is the best way to see San Marcos Square/Doges Palace/Basilica and a flavor of Venice.
This was definitely worth it and the best way to see these venues especially in the season. The morning tour of the Doges Palace was excellent and very informative with a very friendly guide (I did not get her name) and avoided the long lines that formed even in the morning. The three hour break was great because we could go to San Giorgio and to have a relaxing lunch. The afternoon tour of the Basilica and the walking tour was great especially with our guide Rita who made the whole experience informative and enjoyable. After the Basilica (again avoiding a long wait to get in) where we got so much background and history about the church, she took us on a walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood through the Greek and Albanian sectors, the Grimani Palace, and quiet streets and courtyards just a few blocks away -- with lots of history and color on what we were seeing. It was great and showed us a part of Venice we would have otherwise missed. This is the best way to do this and to get a flavor of the real Venice away from the tourist traps. Not to be missed.
