This was a great experience. The tour was of the back streets of Venice and away from the main tourist attractions. It included views of one of the last Gondola building yards left on the island. The tour guide was excellent and well versed in the subject and the out of the ordinary aspects of Venice, including description of a haunted villa that no one will buy - interesting? Our group was only 6 and intimate. The Gondola ride was all that was expected and of about 45 minutes duration - enough to take in the experience. I would recommend the tour.
Unique tour of lesser seen areas of Venice. The gondola portion is short but nice. Out guide was a native Venetian who provided great information and answered questions well.
We has a great experience with Viator. We had to change our reservation and the agents on the phone were able to help though finding the number on the website was tough. Our tour guide was awesome. She was local and was very informative about how the life of Venice. She spoke excellent English and was very friendly. The tour required a lot of walking as all of Venice does...stairs, it was hot. It ended with a gondola ride but you may have to share with others on the tour.
Half this trip I would highly recommend - our walking guide was amazing, clearly a local - took us to places off the beaten track, explained things and was truly engaging. The second half the gondola ride was truly awful! Our gonadaleer spent the first ten minutes if our 30 min trip rowing us to where all his friends were having a picnic - not to show us a great experience but to pick up a cup of proseco for himself. He then steered us through a canal and pulled up outside a bar where he waited for someone to come out and give him a beer! Not really what I was expecting or wanting. So def do the walking bit but do NOT get in gondola number 246
We took the morning option and found to our delight that we were the only two on the tour. The walking tour was fantastic and our guide very knowledgeable about the local area. The best part was that we got to have a gondola ride without having to share.
Visited Venice alone, and this was a perfect way for me to go on a gondola ride. The ride was the perfect time at night where the sun is going down and you can experience both a day and night ride. The walking tour was great as well. Our guide brought us to a lot of interesting spots that I know I would not have found on a regular tour.
The trip was brilliant, the hotel was excellent the only down side is you needed a boat to get to the city center and back which was free from the hotel. However, if the weather is cold and it was freezing some days the boat only runs once per hour and the waiting area has no cover. Apart from that it was all we expected and very beautiful. The Gondola ride was great, but a little scary as it was night and we were only a few inched from the water line and the waves were quite big, I was at the front and it was a great view of the city, you must do it!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable so the tour was very interesting. The gondola ride was excellent. Good value for money.
Very good specially because it shows you the normal venice.
Loved how the tour guide gave us a feel for how it is to live in modern day Venice, while giving history as well. Night Gondola ride was fun.
This Venice tour was excellent. We had to take the public transit water bus from Murano and change to another one at San Marco which put us directly at the Academia stop for the tour. The guide was very knowledgable about the city, history, and significance of various sights and cultural practices. He actually took us on a walking tour of the less well known sites and we were able to see artisans [Gondola craftsmen] at work. The highlight was the Gondola ride, though it is clearly a practice retained just for the tourist industry. Venice is a must see overall. Great food, sights, and people.
This was a great tour taking us to the other side of the river and explaining some of the lesser known things about Venice
The tour a was great! had a fabulous guide who was very funny and knew the history of Venice. We seemed to have walked both sides of the Grand Canal but it did not feels like. There was a fabulous sunset, the weather was great! The gondola ride was at the end of the walking tour and just in time when we getting a tired. I wished the gondolier gave us a history of the cancel but didn't speak English as all. Overall the tour was great and I would highly recommend it!!
This tour was great, saw a side of Venice that we would not have seen, especially from the Gondola. Guide very informative. Great evening!!
The best tour for the trip! We love the small group and the nice morning walk around the tour. Tour guide was excellent.
This tour was absolutely wonderful! Mirco was informative and gave us so much information that helped me appreciate Venice and the Venetians way of life. I would recommend this tour to everyone. It is an enjoyable walk, but wear sensible walking shoes....of course. The gondola ride was a truly amazing experience and so relaxing at night. Thank you Viator for making this tour available! Thank you Mirco!
This was a very informative tour with some good highlights of Venice. The sunset was a great experience which makes the night tour a must. The gondola ride was quiet and relaxing.
Excellent trip to the hidden away places. The evening trip was perfect with less crowds
Interesting tour from and excellent guide that covered some less well know area's of 'hidden' Venice, rather than the main attractions and sights. The Gondola ride was tranquil and pleasant. Don't expect the gondolier to say much in the way of a commentary though! Ours didn't.
We did this tour in the morning - a nice time - not too crowded with people and easier to see the sites. This is a wonderful way to see and wander through some of the streets (calles and fondements) of Venice and learn some history at the same time. This tour walked us through the neighbourhoods of Dorsoduro and San Polo followed by a relaxing Gondola ride through the smaller canals of San Marco. Our walking guide, Francesca (with the blonde, longer hair), was quite sweet and funny with an extensive knowledge of the area. I recommend this tour and Francesca.
