We do recommend this full day tour, in addition to skipping the long lines, you get access to Marie Antoinette states where you can get lost if you don't have a guide. Claire was very helpful and friendly and very patient.
This tour was fantastic. It is very long, but well worth it. Our guide was Pauline, and she was wonderful. I had been to Versaille before, but not the fountains or the Petit Trianon or Hamlet. She had lots of information throughout the tour and was so pleasant. If you have the time and can come on a Sunday when they turn on the fountains, I recommend it. The fountains are great, but the stories Pauline tells you about what happened at these events is very interesting.
Enjoyed to entire day with our guide. Lucked out and had perfect weather to enjoy all of the grounds. Tour guide, Claire, was great.
Our tour was amazing and our guide was so knowledgable! The one drawback is that it is a bit too long for some people. Well worth the money.
Pauline was a very engaging tour guide. She did not simply give us the history of the palace, but she ensured that each of us were able to get a proper view of the rooms, which is great when you have 50 people jammed into 1 room.
Our tour of Versailles was wonderful! Pauline was an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable and did a great job with crowd control. It was an extremely busy day and she was able to carve out spots for us. The afternoon portion was relaxing and informative. Our children are 13 and 15 yrs old and Pauline was so good she kept them engaged during our tour. I would highly recommend this tour.
When I booked this trip my Husband wasn't thrilled with how long it was. He loved it! Isabel was our guide. She is very knowledgable and funny. Pack your most comfortable shoes and book this tour! The time goes by very quickly and you learn so much and see so much!
The day we were there, it unfortunately rained but this is a must do trip. Our guide Isabel showed us so many things! This is not a tour for those who can't walk far or have poor endurance. We walked nearly all day. One important note is that we signed up for a Sunday tour which is heavy with visitors. We did this because of the water show only on Sundays. However, if you've been to the Bellagio in Vegas, you've seen much better. If we were to do over again, we'd go on a Tues -- Thurs where there's less crowds. We took the metro from Paris then connected to a train. BE SURE TO GET A TRAIN TICKET and not use your metro ticket only. We didn't know and were fined 60 Euro for riding the train without the right ticket. It takes about 1 hr to get to Versailles from Paris including connection times so give yourself ample schedule time. Enjoy.
After seeing the very long queues upon arrival at Versailles we were so glad we booked the Skip the Line tour. Our guide Pauline was brilliant. She was extremely knowledgable and kept our small group totally entertained during the tour. Versailles itself is absolutely amazing and a full day is definitely required to take in the grandeur of not only the Palace but also the grounds and the picturesque Grand and Petite Trianon. No hesitation in recommending this tour!
Our tour guide was Pauline. She was fantastic. My mother particularly enjoyed the way she made everything fun and exciting with her stories of the history. We started off in the palace in the morning, visiting the different rooms and the hall of mirrors. The chandeliers were amazing. Thank goodness we had Pauline. She let us skip the line, which was great as the lines otherwise were hours long. She got us into the best spots for photographs and gave us stories in each room of the history. It was very crowded and she made sure to keep us all together. There were only a few of us on this tour, but we could have easily gotten lost. After lunch on our own, we headed to the Trianon and Marie Antionette's Estate. The farm was gorgeous and I do wish we could have spent a little more time there exploring. When we got back to the palace gardens, the fountains were on and they were spectacular. It was a lot of walking, about 5 miles over the course of 7 hours, but well worth it. I am glad we had Pauline to guide us as it would have been a very harrowing experience on our own and we wouldn't have been able to see so much.
The tour was wonderful. It was a very thorough tour of Versailles. We had a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide, that took her time and was happy to answer any questions we had along the way. She was on time and didn't rush us through the tour. Great day!
Our 'skip the line' tour of Versailles Palace and Gardens was simply superb. In our party of 4, three had never been there before and were blown away by the whole experience. Our tour guide, Sophie, was sensational, opening up a side of the Palace we all found fascinating to learn about. We also appreciated that the Palace deserved a full day tour. A half day would never have done it justice.
Pauline was fantastic, she was extremely knowledgeable , quite hilarious at times. She included everyone in the tour in an individual way with the things we were viewing. There is a fair bit of walking, but well worth the time and effort. Pauline clearly is superlative guide, her humour and knowledge set her apart.
My daughter and I had a wonderful tour of Versailles with our knowledgeable, humorous and dedicated guide Paula (Paulina?). She was spirited and filled with back history and behind the door insights into life at Versailles during the period the palace was lived in by the royal families that made it all relevant to the building and grounds. It was a nine mile trek in all (Fitbit) so be sure to wear comfortable shoes...it is worth the exercise.
Had been to Versailles before but had never visited gardens. The tour guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. Our tour was a small group of four and the only way to go! The guide was able to address our specific and individualized questions, therefore, being able to go into great depth when the occasion occurred.
Have good walking shoes and bring along an extra camera battery. You’ll need both! We walked for about six hours and literally covered the entire grounds. Exploring the grounds was an incredible adventure! Marie Antoinette’s Estate was the ” Cerise sur le gateau”
As a family we enjoyed the full day at Versailles. Our guide Clare was fantastic and gave us plenty of anecdotes about the Royals who lived there. It was a great extra touch when Clare provided bread for the kids to feed the ducks and fish in Marie Antoinette's garden. It was a very small tour group of our 5 plus two which made it very relaxed to do the whole day. We did it on a Sunday and the fountain display was fantastic!
We had such a wonderful time on our full day tour of Versailles! Our guide was fantastic, engaging and took the time to answer all questions. Our morning tour had 12 people, but most had signed up for the morning only and the entire afternoon was only six people, it was wonderful! This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes/ sneakers. There is a LOT of walking!
Very small group; our guide, Pauline, was very friendly and she shared lots of interesting information. It was great!
AWESOME! All I can say is what a line... it had to be a mile long and we walked right past everyone. I felt sort of bad. Our guide was nice, fun, polite and very informative. The only thing I would point out is this is an extremely physical tour. A lot if stairs and walking. But, I'd do it again.
Pauline was the most wonderful enthusiastic and knowledgable young lady. She told us all about Versailles Chateau and after lunch walked with us for 3 hours through petit and grand Trianon and the hamlet and gardens.
Whatever you do - do the small group tour. - more than worth it
It all came to life with her commentary
Our guide was excellent. Spoke and understood very good English and had a good understanding of English humour.
She was very knowledgeable and informative. We were lucky enough to be in a group of only 4, so it really was a special occasion.
This tour was fantastic with only four in our group. Our tour- guide, Sophie -Anne was knowledgeable, interesting and interested so we gained the most out of our visit. Without her we would not have seen nor appreciated as much as we did. Beating the queue was decidedly an advantage of this tour
