This is a must see! Take the tour even if it is to avoid the lines at the entrance. The palace is incredible, and the gardens are beyond description. Go on the days that the fountain show is on, it is worth it. Our guide used wireless headsets to talk to us, and this let us wander around in the rooms and still listen to his commentary. Buy the book at Versailles; it will provide you with pictures in rooms you can't take photos, plus they are also better than you would be able to take yourself.

It's a must do day out, our tour guide was the best, all the information you'd want, costs a little more but well worth it.

The minivan trip was very long due to traffic, but the tour guide was great. He was knowledgeable and seemed to like his job. He told us all about the different Kings and Queens and what they did during their reigns. He was ready with lots of information to take in.

Versailles was beautiful however, nobody on the tour liked the guide. She had a snarky attitude and was rude. We also did not like the fact that there was not a lunch choice. Everyone had to have fish, except the guide who somehow was able to get beef. I went on the city tour the day before and had a wonderful experience. I believe Versailles would have been much better with a different guide.
