Sometimes when you book things with "private access" you find that they are not so private after all, but this tour did not disappoint. If you are looking for an in-depth Versailles tour with access to usually closed areas this is the tour for you. Our guide, Stephanie, was an absolute delight! Thank you Viator.
This tour is so worth the money we paid. Our guide Kevin was very engaging and entertaining, but it was the specialist guide and opportunity to go into rooms not accessible by the general hoards that really made it great. Just do it!
9 November 2013 - Absolutely breathtaking.
Our British tour guide Stephanie was amazing. Not only was she knowledgeable but she was also passionate and proud with her guidance.
Our bus driver, Fatima, was generous with her time during the guided tour, taking photos of each of us at various locations (on the tour).
Brilliant! The ONLY way to to do Versailles. Skip the queues and go to rooms that everyone else simply dreams of seeing. The tour guides yes there were two were awesome. They help with photos, crowd control and expert commentary. The early start was a great idea too. Great value and first class. Thankyou.
The tour was excellent, worths the money that we spent on. A great experience, The tour guide in Versailles, Jean Marc ( I hope I undrestood his name well) was aoustanding, perfect!
What a day. This was better than anything I could have hoped for. The Palace was so opulent and we enjoyed the private tour through the areas not normally seen by the general public like the clock room, writing room, Louis XIV's bedroom and the Royal chapel. We were very privileged to see the library, Marie Antoinette's game room, the dining room and the opera house. After the palace tour we spent the afternoon in the stunning royal gardens and orangerie and enjoyed the musical fountain show. A very full day, including transfers from Paris and very much enjoyed.

the BEST tour EVER .. VIP treatment and amazing tour guides.. kevin or kevin the 1st as he calles him self was very friendly, sweet and efficient guid we loved him so much ... and the other guid in Versailles was very knowledgeable as well .. recommended tour and worth every penny
Excellent and well worth the money as you get into rooms others never get to see. Versaille is spectacular and our guide was very knowledgible. Not to be missed. No waiting in lines, get in by a side door and no crowds, the best.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The Guide at Versailles was very knowledgeable and shared so much information with us, he was terrific. It was nice to miss the crowds too and have an intimate glimpse of court life as it was for the royal families. The gardens were stunning, and as we visited on a Tuesday, classical music was playing as we wandered around, lovely.
Worth every penny!
We stood in the church were Louis XVI married Marie Antoinette while the general public could only look in from the doorway. We were able to visit the private quarters of both Louis XV and Louis XVI; as well as Marie Antoinette's bedroom and sitting room. We were inches from the Passemant Astronomical Clock which is the 18th century clock which set the official time in France for the first time in their history. Finally, our guide was able to get us in to Royal Opera House, built to celebrate the marriage of Louis XVI, and is one of only a few Opera Houses of wood construction still in existence. This tour is a MUST-SEE.
Extremely high priced but very interesting and enjoyable. Kevin, our guide on the van to/from Versailles, was lots of fun, informative and attentive to the group. The English speaking guide at Versailles was easy to understand and knowledgeable. The time allocated for touring the gardens was too rushed, and the fact that it was misty with light rain made it harder to enjoy the musical fountains. Choose a Saturday or Sunday to visit Versailles if you want to hear the music in the gardens (3 - 5 p.m.) and allocate a whole day if you can. We didn't have time to see the basics (the areas available to everyone) of the palace but we saw them on a prior visit albeit many years ago.
Our host, Kevin and driver Fatima were excellent. They were on time and made our trip to and from the palace entertaining and fun. At the palace we were introduced to our guide for the palace tour and she was excellent. I did not catch her name and I apologize for not being able to put it in the review. Getting to skip the line was a real plus as the ticket line was long. Also, having access to the rooms not available to the people not on the tour was another plus as you got to see more e.g. Chapel, Opera House and avoided the crowds. Once the tour was over we went into the gardens and enjoyed the water show. Then to the Petit Venise restaurant at the edge of the gardens for an excellent lunch. Highly recommend taking this tour if you are going to the Palace of Versailles.
We loved being able to visit the Royal rooms and see the main rooms like the hall of mirrors before the massive crowds. Our guide was knowledgeable and responsive to questions.

This tour was excellent. Kevin was our guide in the bus going there and back, and was informative and entertaining. The guide at Versailles, Anna, was superb, providing real, detail about the history of the castle, and also how the kings and their families lived there. Being able to avoid the crowds, and to see the private areas, was worth the cost.
