Great way to spend an afternoon. We saw Orcas and Humpbacks. However the whales were a little shy and didn't perform for us. Ahhh the way of nature! The crew was great- knowledgeable and friendly. Check in process was quick and easy. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a tour.
This was a great tour! We saw whales and seals and different types of birds. The crew were fantastic and the check in counter staff were a lot of fun. I will do it again next time we go!
We went out in search of Orcas and found beautiful Humpback whales instead. What a treat. The crew were fabulous, so full of laughter and life, and very astute to the needs of every passenger on the boat. When I am in Victoria again, I will definately be taking another excursion with its company.
Was really great. Only because the tour group moved us from a zodiac to an enclosed boat!! We are 65 and 66 years old and the Zodiac would have been impossible. As it was, it was fantastic. They were very gracious to take care of us. Will definitely be using Viator again.
We had a great time. Fiona was very informative about the whales and overall information of the area. We saw a number
of orca whales, as well as seals. Recommend it to all.
The tour was outstanding! I learned a great deal of information from the on-board biologist. We found a pod of five orcas and followed them for almost an hour. I look forward to repeating the tour on our next visit to Victoria.
Great trip thank you. Saw lots of whales and the crew were great fun and very knowledgeable. Will do it again one day!
I really cannot say enough about how awesome this tour was. The staff was so helpful and so full of knowledge about the Oracas. We also were able to see a Grey Whale. I had a six year old and seven year old with me and they were thrilled. The educational value was fantastic. The Captian was a young lady and she spent alot of time with us and was so careful with the Orcas.
We had a great day whale watching, at first we thought we would not see any whales as it was foggy and we seemed to be having no luck finding them. The great thing is that all the Whale watching boats are in contact and advise each other if they get a sighting, so you have a better chance of seeing Whales. After an hour at sea we got great views of lots of Whales... amazing, the crew are great giving information about the Whales, the boat is comfortable and no sea sickness at all, great washroom and refeshments availble. This is a great trip and excellent value for money that I would highly recommend, got some great photo's too.
This was a very worthwhile experience. The tour director was knowledgeable, informative and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who would enjoy nature contact experiences.
I loved this tour! The two young guides were so knowledgeable and friendly. It was so thrilling to see the orcas so close!
The trip was amazing! The whales were so playful and active and there was so many of them. It was a beautiful afternoon.
Not bad, crews are friendly and responsible, they would not stop searching until we find anything interesting. but the fact is we didn't see too much whales except two humpback, I means that's the point of the trip right? maybe the timing is wrong, maybe it's just unlucky, but I just can't give 5 stars. participate in may 30, 2015
Great experience and great company. We got to see the whales. We wish we could stay a little longer while watching the whales.
This was fab, yacht was just right for the middle and younger age groups. Lucky to see whales. Crew very knowledgable on wild life we came across and captain of ship in constant radio contact with other ships around to guide all to see orca. Captain very respectful to all animals we came across, seals, whales, birds, didn't encroach or trap the wild life, allowed easy escape routes if they wished to do so. Crew had marine degrees and vast knowledge, knew all about orca we came across. They hold recognition sheets on dorsal fins so knew who they were and from which group they belonged
A very well organised trip with knowledgeable and helpful crew. We were lucky that the weather was fantastic and we saw orcas, seals, herons, etc, It would have been a 5 star trip if the whales had been a bit more accommodating and more visible, but that is the chance you take.
Well worth a trip but felt a bit let down that we did not get closer to the whales. The ride out and back are worth the trip alone. Like a roller coaster.
The staff was wonderful and extremely friendly. The whales on the other hand were not cooperative that day. We maybe saw a glimpse of one very far away. It is not the tour companies fault but it was disappointing.
We went out on the seas exactly when the storm of the century hit BC. The waves were as high as houses and we thought the boat would be smashed to smitherines when dropping out of the sky. We the ones who were not sea sick and had their head between their knees did manage to see some orca back fins from far away. This was not the trip we had looked forward to and will probably not try to repeat it.
Disappointed, saw no whales. Other companies guaranteed sightings of their money back.
We arrived at the office on time for the company to tell us that the boat was fully booked and we would be transferred to another. I had booked this particular tour because of the size of the boat used and what we would expect during the trip. WHAT A JOKE!. We were transferred to something no bigger than a TUG BOAT! 33 people where on this boat, so much that not everybody could sit down. We accept that the weather on that day was not good, but did expect too be able to sit down in safety. The arrangement of this trip by Viator was good and not a problem. We advise to all if you are told that you are being transferred to another boat ask why! We booked this months previous in advance and was disappointed, yes there were whales (in the distance). There are numerous companys on Victoria Harbour offering whale watching. In all this boat we were on ruined the trip, you had to hold on for dear life as it was very choppy. We feel that if the original boat had been used for the trip it would have been more enjoyable (despite the weather) By the way we did not see any boats equivalant in size to the one we originally booked out there whale watching only zodiac boats doing the trip, these boats remained in the harbour tied up!!!!
Wish we had seen more than one humpback. Friends on another linr saw lots. We were not so lucky or something.
