Top class day from being picked up from the hotel prompt -and a really nice guy as well, to the trip to Bratislava ,once we got off the coach we were met by our guide a really nice lady sorry I forget her name she took us on a 2hr tour of all the sights and the history this lovely little town as to offer , then we had 4-5 hrs to our selfs then back to vienna by catamaran a great 70min trip along the Danube all in all a great day out while in vienna why not see another country so different well worth it 100 recommend....
Bratislava is off of the beaten path in Central Europe, but it's a town full of friendly people and incredibly good food. We enjoyed the boat back on the Danube, as it was full of windows and easy to enjoy the cruise. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. She steered us to all of the good restaurants, and we ate at 3 of them, as the weather was a bit cold and rainy. There is a Habsburg Castle which we didn't visit, but it's an inexpensive and easy trip up to it. I recommend this tour for the interest, the value, the scenery, and the food.
Viera was an excellent guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour, even on a rainy cold day. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include the bus ride up to the castle on the tour. My group took the boat ride back to VIenna and it was well worth the extra money.
Excellent tour. The morning is spent with a guide who did a great job of explaining the history of the city to us. After the free lunch which was satisfactory, we had plenty of free time to explore the city on our own. After reading all the comments on here, I opted to take the boat ride back. While it was neat, there were long stretches of it where there was nothing interesting to see at all. If you are on a budget, I recommend just taking the bus back, which is faster anyway.
This was a good time, though the included meal was not at a great place. The guide was excellent and he made a real effort to ensure that we saw Bratislava and understood what we were seeing.
Excellent day trip to Bratislava....confortable coach journey, excellent guide and lovely boat trip back to Vienna, although we were so lucky with weather!! Everything went very smoothly.
1 hour from Vienna. Very quick tour seeing the parts of old toen Bratislava. I would probably do another tor for at least 2 days, but this tour opened my eyes to a beautiful city.
While in vienna it s rude not to nip to bratislava, a very different city to vienna but we'll worth a visit the tour guide was good and the boat trip back was brilliant
Hotel pick-up was on time. Bus took us to Bratislava and tour guide was decent. She spoke good English and Spanish. I would recommend the boat on the way back so you have more time to explore on your own. Boat ride was great.
Recommended! Great way to visit a small city. went back by Catamarã, best choice ever!!
Interesting day trip to Bratslavia! We enjoyed learning about the history of this quaint town and also enjoying some free time.
This is a great day trip. We choose the boat ride back on the Danube. Although it's about an hour and 45 minutes, they have a male and female bathroom as well as a little snack/beer shop. Bratislava is a great city.
The trip was wonderful especially the boat cruise on the Danue river was special.
This was a great day. Pick up went smooth. Bus to Bratislava was fine. Local guide was fine. Lunch was ok. Not great but it was well located. Free time in Bratislava was awesome. We wandered the town. Went to the top of the bridge. The views were great. It's an easy town to visit. We took the boat ride home. Again the views were worth it. Highly recommend this tour.
If in Vienna, definitely do this day trip to historical Bratislava, the food was nice also
Disclaimer below! This tour was definitely a must! Vera was a great guide and made sure we could all hear her by using a microphone and speaker. Bratislava is a wonderful small town with so many things to see. We spent a few hours touring with the guide, then she left us at lunch with several hours on our own. The food at the restaurant was passable, but nothing special. Take the boat back for a great trip on the Danube.
I would have rated this lower, but it was such a great town and the boat trip back was wonderful. The reason is because the bus to get there is misleading. It is a tour-type bus, but it is a public transport from Vienna to Bratislava with two stops before the tour. You are dropped off by Vienna Sightseeing and on your own until Bratislava. The bus driver was good with the announcements though.
Knowledgeable guide, normal walking pace for the walking tour, great food and ride back on the boat were awesome. City itself leaves very warm memories: quiet and beautiful. Definitely would recommend this 1-day tour!
