I enjoyed the trip but not the lunch stop. It would have been nicer if it had been an authentic Hungarian restaurant and not some restaurant in a chain hotel. Our guide really sounded like she was reading the history of Hungary from some printed document, and that was not very interactive because she was sitting down, not even facing us or talking to us. The local Budapest guide was good, and she did take us to some excellent photo op places. I liked it, but this excursion was lacking personality and something personal, and that's why I think it could have been much better.

The tour guide was great and very helpful. Lunch was enjoyable and delicious. However, we did not have much free time, although we did do more on-the-bus sightseeing, which gave us a little flavor of the city. I probably would not take the bus to do this again since it was a 4 hour one way trip to the city.

It was OK but could have been so much better if we had guides that we could understand or hear. The guide on the bus spoke very bad English and after a while she gave up on English all together and spoke mostly Spanish. The scary part is that no one spoke Spanish on the bus. The local guide was a bit better.

The time was not planned in an optimal way. For example, the first place to visit was the Square of Heroes, where we had to spend about forty five minutes. Ten minutes would have been plenty. Meanwhile, we did not have time for more significant and more interesting landmarks, which we just passed by on the bus. Not enough time was spent around the Elizabeth Square. Lunch is a rip-off, where we did not have any choices other than imposed upon us by the tour guide. There were no other options. Some of the guides did not speak the language in which they conducted their tours anywhere near fluent. All Spanish-speaking tourists gradually moved to the English-speaking group. Budapest is certainly a beautiful city that deserves to be explored. It's just too bad we were not too lucky with this particular tour.

This was a long day and it was extremely hot and hazy. It is rather unfair for me to rate this tour, the haze is clouding the day.

There was not enough time on our own around the palace.

Poor meal, very unhealthy and expensive, at the hotel where the guide took us. Entrances to monuments should be included.

In the time available we could well have been shown more specific things e.g. churches, buildings, monuments, galleries, museums or given time to visit just one or two of them for a more useful period. Also the 'shopping time' was far too long and being so cold most of the people on our tour hid in the coffee shop as long as possible.

Did not relize that we would not be stopping to see the attractions, monuments, etc. Whizzing by is not my idea of touring.

This was absolutely the worst bus tour I've ever taken. Calling Vajdahunyad Castle and the Citadel "highlights" is misleading when all we got were a few seconds glimpse from a moving bus - if we were lucky enough to be on the right side of the bus. We had 15 minutes at Hero's Square and 45 minutes at Fishermen's Bastion and Matthias Church (exterior only). Lunch was grossly overpriced and took way too much time. We spent lot of time sitting in traffic. The guide was not very informative. Our time for exploring on our own was cut in half; the whole thing ended an hour earlier than advertised because our driver had to be back in Vienna for another job at 8:30. Booking through Viator went well, but the tour company really let us down.
