The day was handled in a very professional manner. Everyone concerned was extremely helpful and pleasant. The bus was clean and well kept and the boat portion on the river was wonderful. There was commentary of important points along the way.

We had a wonderful time seeing the countryside and the Abbey restaurant was great!

An absolute highlight. There is nothing quite like floating leisurely down the Danube on a sunny day, taking in glorious scenery on the way to the beautiful monastery at Melk. Strongly recommended, possibly the best day trip from Vienna.

This was a great tour, again communications was poor in the sense that we did not realize we had a choice of eating in two places.

The Benedictine Abbey was the highlight of our trip.

Beautiful scenery, even in winter. The boat was comfortable and clean, with food and drinks available as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Very informative tour at the Benedictine Abbey.

Nice views, boat ride was great - terrific food available. Melk was interesting and beautiful. A good day trip.

The Danube Valley Day Trip from Vienna was a huge plus to our trip. I appreciated the guides speaking in English. The only thing I would change would be the suggested lunch. I suggest eating on the cruise so people can have plenty of time at the monastery. Most of our group had to sit for an hour at Melk before the guide would let us visit. Therefore, we did not have enough time to see all the beautiful Melk sights. We had no time left for the gift shop, which I alway enjoy visiting on a trip. We had no time to see the gardens. We were very disappointed about the time allotment to actually see the beautiful Melk sights. No one in our group wanted to eat at the pricey restaurant, so we had to waste time sitting on a bench outside until we were allowed in.

We particularly appreciated being able to organise pickup from our hotel on the morning of the tour. All of the details for this were given on our booking voucher. We had a very comfortable tour bus with excellent commentary. The wait on the quayside for the boat and tickets was a little chaotic, but once aboard we had very good bar and food service.

We enjoyed this trip but think we would have been better advised to eat on the boat rather than at the abbey. You can watch the scenery while eating on the boat, but there is no view from the abbey restaurant. We could have spent that time exploring the abbey grounds.

Great day trip and nice and easy with pick up, but the over an hour break for lunch and dropping us at an expensive restaurant was a bit tacky for me.

I was surprised that the bus part of the tour was longer than than the actual boat trip time, but it was still a good trip. The guide was excellent and filled with information and jokes. The tour of the restored Abbey was excellent. The abbey is fabulous.

A great day, the Benedictine Abbey at Melk is incredible. We had lunch as an alternative to the boat cruise which was not that good, the only disappointment of the day.

This trip was really fun. We got picked up at the Opera House, then transferred to a main bus station, so there was lots of waiting at the start. The drive on the bus is through some pretty amazing countryside. The boat ride on the Danube is entertaining for the first hour, but it goes on for a bit too long and much of the scenery is the same. The Abbey at Melk was beautiful and the tour was interesting. Overall, I would recommend it. Also, I would bring something to snack on unless you want to pay for the overpriced food offered on the boat or the overpriced food offered at the abbey.

We enjoyed this trip particularly the cruise and would certainly recommend it to others.
