The tour guide was knowledgeable and there was a lot to see. It was worth the trip just to see the abbey and the view.

This trip is definitely worth doing. It is a nice break from the city to see the countryside. The drive through the Wachau Valley and the boat trip were both lovely. Melk was definitely the highlight of they day. Fortunately we had lunch on the boat, so we had time to explore the village before visiting the Abbey. Unfortunately, the tour guide was more interested in some of the other tourists who appeared to be family, and didn't bother to tell us what was going to happen next. He also failed to explain that there were two options for lunch: lunch on the boat or at Melk. I would still recommend this trip to someone else, just make sure the tour guide gives you an itinerary of the day. The tour guide appeared to be disorganized and distracted.

Thank you for a very enjoyable trip on the Danube. It was easy to organise and book on the internet, and being picked up from our hotel was a bonus. Our guide for the day was most helpful and informative. We enjoyed the whole day and would recommend it to anyone.

Our coach was luxurious and smooth as ice cream and our tour guide was quite funny and informative. The trip was a welcome relief from walking around Vienna. The Danube boat trip was so relaxing and we saw lots of castles. We had lunch at the Benedictine restaurant and sat outside to eat. It was really good. The monastery was really interesting and our tour guide was very enthusiastic. The lavishness of the architecture was amazing. Great trip, would recommend it.

This tour was very good, but though I was picked up from the hotel I was not returned to hotel as described.

The guide was very informative and helpful and there were many photo opportunities. There was some confusion with getting on the bus, but once on it was a great day trip.

The pick up from the hotel was useful. However we then had to change from minibus to a coach, then drive to another part of Vienna and change again. Organisation at this point was poor, no information on which coach. The driver never even told us we had to get off and change coach. Once we got on the correct coach the trip was very pleasant, with the host pointing out sites of interest etc. Long wait in the open it was raining for the boat. No one had told us it was a restaurant boat, no seats other than if you ordered food and drink. Trip to Melk excellent! The monastery was beautiful, the guided tour was rather quick but good. Host on coach spoke several languages very well, but very defensive about us being dropped off in Vienna centre rather than return transfers to hotel. This ought to be mentioned on booking. As several people on the coach thought return transfers were included.

Too much bus time and not enough boat time.

This trip was quite enjoyable. We took a few buses to, then arrived at the boat. The boat arrived and the journey was quite nice, although I would not classify it as a romantic cruise by any means. There were lots of children and just general tourists on board. We found out later that the trip was sold under many titles. We then got to the Abbey, which was quite nice. The service in the restaurant was very quick and the food was lovely. We had to meet our guide again for the tour of the Abbey, which was grand. We were very tight on time, as we had to meet back up at the bus as soon as the tour ended, which meant we did not have time to have a look at the church itself, which was a shame, because the church was lovely. All in all, it was a pleasant day, but not as romantic as we had hoped it to be. I wouldn't recommend it to couples trying to have some special time together, as that's what we wanted and it kinda ruined it for us.

The river was good. The guide and program were not that great. He told us not to eat on the boat, while in fact that would have been the best moment. We ate at the restaurant after the boat ride instead of using that time to tour the area! It was just the same food at the same price.

I would've liked to visit the village of Durnstein as well.

On the positive side, this day trip was a great way to see the countryside. We especially loved the abbey and getting away from the city. However, the tour was quite crowded, and the bus ride was long. The boat trip was also very crowded, and the food was very expensive. The real drawback was that upon returning to Vienna, we were not returned to our hotel. We were dropped off in the middle of the city, without direction on how to get back to our hotel. The cab ride back wasn't cheap. We felt like once the tour was over and they had our money, they didn't care anymore. That seemed to overshadow the nice day we had had.

Nice tour, boring scenery and did not like the abbey at Melk. Try the Rhine. Coffee stop village was cute and it was winter so we did not do the boat trip.
