A wonderful experience that culminated in a splendid Concert at the Schonbrunn Palace.
Well organised, well planned. Helpful and polite staff. A great experience.
This tour was extremely well done and informative. Our guide, Jonny, did an excellent job in spite of the serious subject matter.
Highly recommended. Dinner was superb. Cruise was very refreshing, though the weather at that time was not so good. I recommend you take the cruise on a sunny day. The concert was the best!
The dinner is better than average for a group seating and close to the Orangerie where the concert is an absolute delight. The hall is where the only proximate performances of Mozart and nemesis Sallieri (Sp?) were recorded in history. The surprise was the operatic performance with the concert. This is not just a totally light concert for tourists! The only thing keeping this experience from 5 stars is the canal cruise. You are on a canal ferry with little to do with the Danube. Better to take a genuine Danube cruise to Melk or Durnstein as a half day activity and really enjoy the Danube.
We enjoyed the Danube Cruise, the dinner and the exceptional Palace Concert. The only complaint would be the arrangements for collection of tickets. As the Schonbrunn Palace was quite a way from our hotel, we wasted a good part of our morning collecting them prior to the cruise. Having tickets forwarded to our hotel would have been more convenient.
We were disappointed with this tour. Apart from the inconvenience of having to go all the way to the Schoenbron to pick up the tickets when the cruise was a walk from our hotel the cruise itself was not brilliant. When I think of the Danube I envisage good scenery and views. We glimpsed this briefly but most of the cruise was spent on the canal or in a lock. The dinner was moved to the Marriott hotel and was very plain and the dessert inedible. We the had to walk a very long way in unsuitable shoes to the concert. The concert was fabulous and almost made up for the rest but this was my sisters 60th birthday present and as a hard working nurse I feel she deserved better.
The time for the River Cruise (12:30) were discussed with your representative in Vienna the day before, but when we entered the departure point, we were told that this departure did not start until May 8. We had to wait until 2 p.m. for the next depart. When we returned we could not get at taxi back to our hotel until it was too late to reach the dinner at Schonbrunn. We were offered dinner the next day, but then we had to pay for it (€80). The lack of correct info was not trustworthy.
The concert was lovely but the meal was not worth the money.
