What You Can Expect
Inside the cabin, settle into your seat and enjoy the ambiance of a Heurigen, a local wine tavern. Dig into a buffet dinner offering an array of Austrian recipes, including beverages.
While you eat, a duo on board will play Schrammelmusik, a popular form of Viennese folk music. Hear musical stylings incorporating the accordion and the double-necked guitar, an instrument with origins from Bavarian, Hungarian and Slovenian immigrants in Vienna.
Gaze out the window to soak up views of the city and the Danube River at night. Your evening will conclude at Schwedenplatz after you debark.
Very good enjoyable
What fun!!! Enjoyed this tour very much. Beautiful views and great food and entertainment. A must do when you go.
Danube river cruise is our regular tour my friend and I take when in Austria. Tour was great
Live traditional music, delicious dinner. We were picked up from hotel. Service was great...thank you
my wife and i enjoyed the cruise, the music was very good and there was great feeling of camaraderiemy one criticism would be that the food on offer was bland and unimaginitive
I was expecting the food to be pretty ordinary but it surprised nicely. Schnitzel, Apfelstrudel and few other traditional dishes made for a great dinner. No commentary did make it a little tricky to figure out what was happening but moving through the lock was fun.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The dinner and entertainment were very good. However it would have been better if transport had been available to take passengers back to their hotels as several people experienced difficulty climbing the steep steps from the boat back up to the roadway.
There was some confusion just prior to boarding the boat but we finally were allowed on. The cruise was quite enjoyable and scenery was great, particularly when it got darker. Met some wonderful people. The boat was a bit dumb as the walkways down the sides could only accommodate 1 person which meant if someone was half way down the deck, getting past them was a pain. I enjoyed the food...but then I like any food. You can feed me dog kibble and I would probably like it! My wife enjoyed it though, so thats a good sign.
The food was great, however we did think there would be classical "Blue Danube" music.
