What fun!!! Enjoyed this tour very much. Beautiful views and great food and entertainment. A must do when you go.
I was expecting the food to be pretty ordinary but it surprised nicely. Schnitzel, Apfelstrudel and few other traditional dishes made for a great dinner. No commentary did make it a little tricky to figure out what was happening but moving through the lock was fun.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The dinner and entertainment were very good. However it would have been better if transport had been available to take passengers back to their hotels as several people experienced difficulty climbing the steep steps from the boat back up to the roadway.
There was some confusion just prior to boarding the boat but we finally were allowed on. The cruise was quite enjoyable and scenery was great, particularly when it got darker. Met some wonderful people. The boat was a bit dumb as the walkways down the sides could only accommodate 1 person which meant if someone was half way down the deck, getting past them was a pain. I enjoyed the food...but then I like any food. You can feed me dog kibble and I would probably like it! My wife enjoyed it though, so thats a good sign.
The food was great, however we did think there would be classical "Blue Danube" music.

Even though we arrived in Vienna during the flood, the cruise was not cancelled. We got a cruise on the Donau-canal, and a short trip on the Donau through the watergate. Really interesting! Good food and nice with live music. :)
Prompt pick up and transfer was then spoilt by total confusion as to which boat we were going to be on. The operators staff were unable to resolve the situation for 30mins or more during which we were asked to transfer boats twice. Once resoled we had a very pleasant evening .
The cruise itself is very nice. I recommend that you do not get the dinner package as the meal was barely passable. Besides that it is difficult to fill your plate and walk up a flight of stairs. Everything was down stairs and we were seated up stairs. The best part was when we went on to the main river and was cruising as the sun was setting and the city light started to glow. They also have entertainment on board however they play music down stairs and we were escorted to the top floor. We could barely hear the music. I am not sure if the entertainment was just for the people down stairs, and not the tour groups. . The Negative of the trip was at the end. Apparently they pick you up from you hotel but at the end they drop you off at the boat dock and it's up to you to get home. It was almost midnight when we returned. We were not sure how to get back to the Hotel and apparently the boat people did not care. It was our problem. We found a taxi stand up the way and had the taxi drive us to the Hotel.
The boat, the food and the music were ok, though not outstanding. Everybody on my group was disappointed, since we didn't see anything of the advertised "illuminated views" of Vienna. It was simply dark outside, during all the cruise.
The sightseeing company handled the cruise and surrounding logistics very well. The food was good on the cruise. It would have been nice to know what the music actually was since our group was from various parts of the world and the USA. We were not especially pleased with the singing and the music. Too loud, too long and very local in it's appeal.
It is not worth it. The trip goes most of the part thru a canal and then they connect you with the Danube. The scenery is dull.
To long and boring... The musicians only sang to who they wanted to sing to, and didn't even acknowledge our table, however food was great bug desserts so so. Liz Baker Perth Western Australia.
Poorly organized and staff on the boat were too intent on selling drinks
It was ok. Or you can purchase ticket from the spot will be much better since the local tours doesn't have hotel drop off .
Overall we were very disappointed with this tour. We were collected from the hotel which was efficient and after picking up two other couples we were taken to the boat. We were seated and given a menu which did not have an english translation so dinner was a surprise. It actually consisted of chicken, burgers and sausages and pork schnitzel. An array of salads and a desert with custard. The entertainment was a singer and a guy on an accordian. The locals really enjoyed the songs but after 2 hours it became a little tiresome. Also dont expect to see any sights of Vienna overall this is just a trip up the river and back to the moorings.
and again no interaction in english. Also you dont see any sights of Vienna its just a trip up and down the river
and again no interaction with the english guests. Naively we thought we would see some of the sights
for the folks who didnt speak Austrian. Again no interaction in english. Naively we thought we would see some sights o
Cruise was OK, however finished before the buildings were lite up an extra half would have made this a really great tour.
Food was just adequate and unfortunately there was an extreme crowd of drunken business people on board who had at least 3 helpings of all the food items leaving very little for people queing last. The views were a little disappointing when cleared main residential area there were no significant landmarks to see.
I was expecting something with better food and more elegant. You might make your description more specific as to the menu and ambiance. Also we had to walk home at midnight when we expected to be dropped at the opera house. It was quite late.
We were placed on the bottom level of the boat and saw very little of the night lights of Vienna. No communication from boat staff to say the meal was ready.
For the price this was not worth it. We got picked up from the hotel, but then were left to find our own way back to the hotel at 11:00 pm, with out this being disclosed in the itinerary. Also for $77 per person, you would think a few drinks would have been included in the price, not added on. Which again wasn't disclosed in the description. There was nothing exceptional about the buffet to warrant the price plus the cost of alcohol and the taxi back to the hotel.
