Very well organized and informative. Punctual hotel pick-up. Excellent multilingual skills of our guide. It was a pity he did not come with the group to the underground lake because the boatman spoke only German.

Good. We felt there could be some free time in the woods for a small wander would be a worthwhile inclusion.

Very good trip to the Vienna Woods. Loved the area and wish the tour could have been longer and possibly included the medieval castles and Roman ruins in the area.

The subterranean lake was a first.

First of all, I got chills learning about Prince Rudolph, only son of Emperor Franz Joseph, committing suicide with Baronesse Vetsera in 1889 at the hunting lodge. They say it was only presumed a suicide because no one knew what actually happened. The story was just so captivating and really got my attention. I love mysteries.
The boat ride in the subterranean lake was interesting. We were warned that the temperature at the lake is substantially colder being that it's way underground. You can rent blankets for .50 cents. I was wearing a sleeveless top with a knee length skirt and I didn't need a blanket. To me, it really wasn't cold at all. Well, I've always been hot-blooded. But if you're afraid of being cold, you should bring a light jacket.
As for the language barrier, well, don't worry because there was none. The guides spoke very good English. Easy to understand. If you only have a limited stay in Vienna, I recommend doing the Schonbrunn Palace Dinner Concert tour and the Danube Valley day tour first. The Vienna Woods and Maylering is a good supplement if you have an extra day or so in Vienna.
The hotel pickup was right on time, and the tour was enjoyable. The tour passed through Baden without stopping, but there is a tram from Vienna that would allow one to spend as much time there as desired.

The picture of the lake is not representative. Be warned it is a long walk underground, and deep. The tour is very interesting and well worth doing. The guide in the underground lake was not very good. Mayerling was very interesting. The pickup at the hotel was very punctual. I would definitely use Viator's services again.
