Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Vienna by Night: Evening City Tour Including Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
There were only two couples on this tour including us which made the tour a little more intimate. Obviously, the tour guide spend a lot of time with us and answered all our questions. The wine at the end of the tour and the restaurant with the violinist and accordion player were surely a highlight of this tour. They played any song we wanted, in english or otherwise. Great tour!
Nice experience. Good views and lovely restaurant. Highly recommended.
European cities are lit up for the night time. Very good view of Vienna from the tower. Dinner was excellent.
The tour was informative and fun. The view from the Danube Tower was worth the tour in itself, however, the evening in Grinzing was lots of fun, the food was great and the entertainment was great. The DVD on Vienna I purchased from the tour guide was excellent. I would recommend this tour as well to family and friends.
Excellent tour, the views from the Danube Tower were great and the drink in Grinzing was excellent with some traditional music played too.
Fantastic tour, exellent guide, very good evening in the village tavern, value for money.
We loved going to Grinzen and the tavern restaurant. The tower was fun.
The visit to the wine farm's wine bars and restaurants at the end was the highlight of the evening. The guide was very accommodating and interesting.
Wonderfully organised trip. The view from the Danube tower was amazing. The visit to the wine tavern was an amazing experience.
This tour provided a nice introduction to the city. While there was no opportunity to stop and take pictures of most of the historic buildings we saw, the Danube Tower was an excellent vantage point from which to get an overview of Vienna. The stop for wine and food in Grinsing was also enjoyable.
enjoyed the time in grinzing wine tavern more than the tower visit...
Our guide seemed very knowledgeable and spoke acceptable English. By driving out to the Danube Tower, we were able to see a lot of Vienna outside the downtown area where most tours are concentrated. The view from the tower is great. I was concerned that the last stop with the complementary glass of Viennese wine wasn't going to give us enough time to enjoy it, and get a bite to eat, but there was plenty of time, and the food and drinks were terrific.
Tour guide was excellent although he had to repeat himself in 5 languages. I am sure that he had to use shorter descriptions to fit it all in. Tower was as expected with beautiful views of Vienna. Our trip to Grinzing was also excellent although I was disappointed that it was a buffet meal. The atmosphere was terrific with music and sing alongs at our table.
The tour guide was amazing -- spoke 4 languages and was very knowledgable. However, the review description is misleading because it says City Tour including the Ferris Wheel and the Heurige. But the description of city sights was very short and we didn't even stop in front of any of those sights. Just drove past and straight to the ferris wheel and then went to a heurige for nice wine and music. So the bulk of the time was spent at the ferris wheel and at the winery -- which you could do for much cheaper on your own. It was a perfectly pleasant evening but if you want to really see and learn about the sights of Vienna, this is not it.
A bit misleading as the picture presented in tour information is not the Danube Tower. The tour starts before sunset in August which was a little disappointing because we did not see the city after dark to see the beautiful city at night. Excellent English speaking tour guide.
This tour may be a bit different in winter when it gets darker earlier. I enjoyed the tour, but felt parts were overstated on Viator. The "admiring the historic buildings along Ring Avenue" was just a coach trip around the ring. Views from Danube tour were great, but still light due to it being summer. The description says 'end the night at a wine tavern in Grinzing", but most of our time was spent here, and if you are a non-drinker (like I am), it wouldn't be on your list of things to do. Having said that, the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the performers at the winery were very talented.
It was a lot of fun, but essentially they just indentify points of interest on the way to the Danube Tower. That said the trip up the tower was a lots of fun, if your afraid of heights like me, the elevator is enclosed so your not looking outside as your going up and down. Also you can stay in an enclosed area or an open area at the top to enjoy the view! A view locations are poited out on the way on the way to the Wine Tavern. This was the best part, as they take you down to the wine cellar which is absoutely beautiful! The atmosphere is wonderful; candle lit, accordian and violin players to set the mood. Good Wine and a great dinner menu! Don't eat dinner before as you will be at the tavern for about an hour and a half. They do rop you off at your hotel after so you can drink as much as you want!
The trip to the Taverns was fun and compensated for the otherwise boring night drive through Vienna.
A pleasant and enjoyable evening with all passengers taken good care of.
Seeing the beautiful buildings at night and the views from the tower was a great experience.
