The tour a little on the expensive side, but the guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.. As the group was small, the guide could be, and was, flexible in allowing more time in certain places for photographs etc.
fantastic tour and guide very knowlegable with area and history excellent stop for lunch well planned itinery and very organised
First, our guide, Adam, was fantastic. The day was one of the best days on our two week trip to Austria and Germany. The wine, food and schnaps were great! The stop in the beautiful village of Durnstein was amazing. The Danube boat trip was beautiful!
It was a really great tour! I had a wonderful day at Wachau.
We had the opportunity to book this all day tour in mid-August. Aside from the warm weather and location, I was most impressed with our tour guide and the small-group nature of the tour. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about the areas we visited, including the wines and had a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed the small-group van option as we had access to more quaint villages along the way that you would not have with a large tour bus. I would highly recommend this tour to get an overall experience of the Wachau Valley, Danube River, wineries and local villages.
A really great day, nice small group, comfortable transport. Guide was brilliant - informative and entertaining. A good mix on the day of being left to do your own thing and also being shown stuff. Learnt a lot about the wines and tasted some good ones! A great day.
This tour exceeded all of our expectations: the guide was marvelous, the six others on the tour added so much to our experience. We loved the "boutique feel" of this excursion and the ability to see things we would not have with any other guided tour. Cannot say enough about our day in the Wachau Valley except to say that we would take the tour again and would recommended it to all!
It's something I strongly recommend. I got my 101 on white wines plus spend my day in a relaxing way. It was not rushed.
The best tour I have ever attended! Wonderful locations, great food and vine and the excellent guide Stelios, who really made this tour amazing.
This tour was a wonderful, relaxing way to spend the day exploring outside of Vienna. Stelios was a marvelous guide and very accommodating to the different interests and abilities within the group. I went with my mother and aunt and we all enjoyed the other very friendly people in our van. This tour is a good combination of sight seeing from the boat, wine tasting, and experiencing a couple of the charming villages along the way. We had a mix of two wineries featuring white wines and also stopped in a nice shop for some apricot schnapps and chocolate. For lunch we sat outside and each chose a simple but tasty plate of cheeses, meats and bread and it was very reasonably priced. We got to Melk and could see the Abbey, but didn't have an opportunity for a close up look or a walk around the town. I am not sure it it was because they were cleaning up after the recent flood or if it is just not part of the tour. Either way, we had a great day and thank Stelios for making it such a memorable experience.
So well done.. We thought about doing the bike riding tour of the wine country but glad we didn't. The wineries were very generous with their pours and I couldn't have gotten on a bike after all that drinking! Fun day, highly recommend it, our guide was amazing.
Absolutely excellent. Best tour with small group - 6 of us with the best tour director. I would recommend this tour highly. Paced well and with a small group more flexibility of how much time to spend where. Saw sights that large groups could not have seen. Definately worth the cost - it really made the trip worthwhile.
We had a memorable time. This is a well done tour that we felt was worth every penny. It was a special opportunity to discover a Vienna beyond City limits if you don't have a car at your disposal. The tour started on time with no delays, and our guide was most friendly and drove safely. He was informative, answered any questions we had, and even gave a mini-impromptu tour of Vienna's city center on our return home. An opportunity to enjoy Austria's wine heritage is not to be missed, and this tour definitely satisfies. One of the highlights was enjoying the hearty "Farmers Plate" lunch beneath the shade of the cherry trees while sipping a glass of chilled Gruner Vetliner (side note: lunch is not included in the price, and vegetarians, be wary). Thank you, Viator!
Great tour guide
The views, the villas, the wineries, everything was excellent
The tour covered everything it said it would. Additionally, the tour guide was very personable and described everything we were seeing in detail. He answered all our questions and made us feel very comfortable. Also, the driver was accommodating and very personable as well. All in all, it made for a delightful experience.
