Beautiful pastoral views of Austria, authentic vineries, friendly guide, and one of the best vines i've ever tried!
We went on this tour fully expecting a nice experience and what we got was a spectacular tour with our guide Gretel. She was just so knowledgeable about the region, the history and the people, not only for the Wachau valley but Vienna and Austria as well. This tour was the highlight of our Austria stay, it is well worth every penny you spend. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has a deep appreciation for wine all the way to someone who has no clue. You will have a memorable experience and if you are lucky enough to have Gretel as your guide you will be in store for something extra special. We loved every mnute of it and still talk about it to this day
A long day but a perfect balance between wine tasting and sightseeing. Stelios was an excellent and informative guide whon made sure everyone enjoyed the tour.
We totally enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to everyone. Not only was it a great drive and very scenic but also the wine tasting was terrific. We had lunch at a vineyard under the shade of grape vines.
All in all a great day made better by being a small group.
The tour a little on the expensive side, but the guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.. As the group was small, the guide could be, and was, flexible in allowing more time in certain places for photographs etc.
fantastic tour and guide very knowlegable with area and history excellent stop for lunch well planned itinery and very organised
First, our guide, Adam, was fantastic. The day was one of the best days on our two week trip to Austria and Germany. The wine, food and schnaps were great! The stop in the beautiful village of Durnstein was amazing. The Danube boat trip was beautiful!
It was a really great tour! I had a wonderful day at Wachau.
We had the opportunity to book this all day tour in mid-August. Aside from the warm weather and location, I was most impressed with our tour guide and the small-group nature of the tour. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about the areas we visited, including the wines and had a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed the small-group van option as we had access to more quaint villages along the way that you would not have with a large tour bus. I would highly recommend this tour to get an overall experience of the Wachau Valley, Danube River, wineries and local villages.
A really great day, nice small group, comfortable transport. Guide was brilliant - informative and entertaining. A good mix on the day of being left to do your own thing and also being shown stuff. Learnt a lot about the wines and tasted some good ones! A great day.
This tour exceeded all of our expectations: the guide was marvelous, the six others on the tour added so much to our experience. We loved the "boutique feel" of this excursion and the ability to see things we would not have with any other guided tour. Cannot say enough about our day in the Wachau Valley except to say that we would take the tour again and would recommended it to all!
It's something I strongly recommend. I got my 101 on white wines plus spend my day in a relaxing way. It was not rushed.
The best tour I have ever attended! Wonderful locations, great food and vine and the excellent guide Stelios, who really made this tour amazing.
This tour was a wonderful, relaxing way to spend the day exploring outside of Vienna. Stelios was a marvelous guide and very accommodating to the different interests and abilities within the group. I went with my mother and aunt and we all enjoyed the other very friendly people in our van. This tour is a good combination of sight seeing from the boat, wine tasting, and experiencing a couple of the charming villages along the way. We had a mix of two wineries featuring white wines and also stopped in a nice shop for some apricot schnapps and chocolate. For lunch we sat outside and each chose a simple but tasty plate of cheeses, meats and bread and it was very reasonably priced. We got to Melk and could see the Abbey, but didn't have an opportunity for a close up look or a walk around the town. I am not sure it it was because they were cleaning up after the recent flood or if it is just not part of the tour. Either way, we had a great day and thank Stelios for making it such a memorable experience.
