An excellent trip from the start! Coach was very comfortable and the driver was first class (David). First stop at Gettysburg town was very interesting and informative and guide (in costume) was very good. Visitors centre and museum was next stop which was also a great experience. A guide joined the bus to take us on a tour of the battlefield and we made several stops at various points of interest where we got off the bus. This was the highlight of a wonderful tour and the guide was superb. You could almost hear the noise of the battle from his enthusiastic and interesting commentary. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our driver showed us his personal Gettysburg movie on the drive up and back. We got to stop in town and as war soldiers, guns and all, went to a mock camp to learn about the time then. Also we got to tour an original house from back then. The outer wall had musket shot marks all over it. We sat in the attic and learned how the soldiers sat there and shot out the window. The tour of the battle field was very interesting and the guide was fun and knowledgeable. Worth the money!
This tour was very good. Our guide @ the battle field was knowledgeable and patient with his charges. We had visited Gettysburg before but this tour added many things we did not know earlier. At Union Station our tour bus was 45 minutes late requiring us to stand in line for about an hour.
As a history teacher, Gettysburg has long been on my bucket list. Our driver shared a lot of interesting details. Showing a video on the way there provided a good over view. I found it a very moving experience to stand on Little Round Top and also to look across the field from where Picket's charge started from.
Everything was so worth the money spent from the knowledgable bus driver to all of the guides. Wonderful day!
Excellent tour guides. Bus was comfortable and clean. Driver was friendly.
OMG! This was a trip that will be long remembered. 1st, the Bus driver played Gettysburg on the way up and back. I had not seen it. The, Day in the life of a soldier" gave an idea of what they went thru. Then we went to the house where soldiers were sharpshooting out of a tiny window. We then went to the museum with the show and Cyclarama(sp), and was really enjoyable. Finally we got back on the bus and spent two hours with a Historian, Joe, that is like all your best history teachers rolled into one. he had such enthusiasm and knowledge that even the young men behind us from Australia were overwhelmed with excitement. We went to the battlefield and saw and experienced what was going on. we exited the bus 4 times to catch better information. It was the highlight!
To say we enjoyed the trip is an understatement!
This was the highlight of our tours and our trip. The bus driver and the tour guide were excellent! Would take this tour again.
Very nice! You get too see some major history and the very grounds where General Lee's and General Meade's armies bravely fought and died for their countries and our nation. We are going back!!
This was the best, would do this on again. Everyone need to go here.
Wonderful tour. Truman, our tour guide, was passionate and knowledgeable about Gettysburg and we learned so much. He also recommended a book that I purchased in the gift shop and that I am anxious to begin reading: Gettysburg: A Strange and Blighted Land by Gregory A. Coco. Informative, emotional and worthwhile tour for anyone interested in Civil War history. A day well-spent.
Learned lots about this key battleground and the participants who were engaged and key to the battle. The guides were very informative.
