Absolutely wonderful excursion. Starting with a friendly staff on the river boat cruise to the fantastic home, museum, pioneer farming and exhibitions going on that day. My only negative comment would be that I wish it lasted longer.
Very enjoyable day, and the cruise on the river is a great way of seeing something different.
Very enjoyable trip and just the right amount of time at Mt. Vernon. Parking is an issue, and snacks on board are a little pricey. But really relaxing, and a great way to get to M. Vernon and back.
The cruise was great. I couldn't always hear the narration because people were talking so loud but the parts I could hear was great info. The actual Mt. Vernon experience is one I won't forget. Didn't realize how much walking was involved up and down hills and paths. It was beautiful experience and one I would highly recommend if anyone asked.
This cruise was a great way to tour Mount Vernon, so relaxing going to and returning from Mount Vernon. Enjoyed having the points of interest pointed out to us on the way there. The 3 1/2 hours allowed at Mount Vernon was plenty and we had plenty of time to eat lunch while there. I would recommend this tour.
Four of us traveled to Mount Vernon and totally enjoyed the trip. I gave my voucher and was handed four sets of tickets that carried us through the day. The cruise was nice and peaceful we enjoyed the time and was able to talk and listen to the guide that pointed out places we were passing. Not nearly enough time to see all of Mt. Vernon but gives us a reason to go back.
Great time! Highly recommend.
Boat ride is enjoyable and educational the morning food choices could be expanded a bit. Mount Vernon is lovely to see, don't miss the educational center, we almost did thinking it was something for children It has a lot of historical pieces that are very interesting. Nice lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn as well.
It was a wonderful cruise down the Potomac. We had a great time at Mt Vernon.
Brilliant tour, so nice to see Washington by boat, calming journey and the tour around the house was very interesting.
Tired of walking - well this is the tour for you. 90 minute cruise on a great boat 3 levels, clean and super staff then ample time to visit Mt Vernon. We learned so much about the Father of our Country. You can't go wrong with this tour!
Great way to get to Mt. Vernon. There was plenty of time to see the estate, eat lunch and shop in the gift store. Don't buy any of the jellies or jams they offer if you are flying home...TSA confiscated these items at the airport!
This was a very nice way to see Mount Vernon. A nice peaceful cruise up the river on a beautiful morning. Could have used a little more time at Mount Vernon, but we managed to get it all in. What an amazing piece of property.
Informative and easy! Enjoyed the boat, river cruise, and guided tours!
River trip was great Boat crew very helpful and friendly We loved the a/c on the way back. RS
Fantastic day. Cruise boat was large and comfortable. Good toilet facilities and you could buy bagels and toast them for breakfast on boarding. Cruising the Potomac river was very interesting. Timed ticket for the house handed out on disembarking. Mount Vernon was a lovely place to spend a few hours All very well organized as expected from Viator tours. A must do.
This is a great way to visit Mt. Vernon. The cruise was lovely. Will definitely plan to do this again with out-of-town guests.
This was a wonderful tour. The cruise down the Potomac was relaxing as well as informational. There was ample time to tour Mount Vernon before returning to DC. I would recommend this tour to anyone!
The tour was great! The boat ride on the Spirit of Mount Vernon was fantastic and informative although a tad chilly and it was a great way to approach the estate. The grounds at Mount Vernon were spectacular, as was the tour within the house. My only complaint is that I wish we had more time to spend there, not being able to see the Distillery and feeling a bit rushed in the GORGEOUS museum that they have in the visitor's center / food court. Another regret is my choice in footwear all of the paths are gravel/dirt, so sneakers are a must!! I recommend this trip to all, but bring a jacket for the boat ride and do not wear sandals!!
Not a single complaint.....well, except the coffee on the boat was really undrinkable. Strangest off taste I have ever encountered--and I am not normally picky about my coffee. Other than that, everything was great. Everything about the trip was well organized and professional.
