Took my 12 year old grandson for 6 days in Washington DC over spring break. We saw almost everything we had planned and had a wonderful time. My favorite day was the trip to Mr. Vernon. Mt Vernon and our tour director was wonderful!
I had an amazing time on this tour! First stop was Fords Theatre to see to see where President Lincoln was shot which included a narrated guide, and then we had a couple of hours in Mt Vernon which was more than enough to see the plantation and grounds. My excellent guide and driver Leroy walked me through the grounds and gave me a huge amount of information and history in general about life at that time - all fascinating. This is a great time of year to visit Mt Vernon as it is not too crowded. There are plenty of restaurants and I picked up unusual gifts in their store. And then we drove through Old Town Alexandria and again Leroy pointed out all the places of interest. He offered to stop but due to jet lag we decided to continue. It was a brilliant day with a lovely informative and interesting guide.....i totally recommend it as an alternative to Washington city and museums.
Bobby is kind, funny and informed. I lived in the beltway area for seven years and did not know Old Alexandria had once been part of the land selected for DC but was sold back to Virginia. I would pick VIAtor again.
Tour guide was one of the best, me and my wife had a great day!
Our tour guide, Leroy, was pleasant and informative. He told us interesting facts about each place he took us. We saw everything promised and more.
Once we got to Mt Vernon the tour took a turn for the better...our tour guide/driver was questionable. He wasn't professional however once he dropped us off at Mt Vernon and we were on our own all was good. Mt Vernon is grand there's plenty of history to see and learn about. Oh also, the driver's van was raggedy we weren't sure if it would survive the 5 hour tour. I will give this tour 5 stars because Mt Vernon is worth seeing however the tour guide/driver is another story.
Personable and helpful tour guide. He gave our group the option (which we voted on) to cut an hour off of our Mount Vernon visit if we wanted to see the Air Force Memorial. That Memorial was great to visit and something that we would not have done if not for our tour guide,
Good tour - probably even better since it was one of the few things we were able to do during the government shut down. Guide did a great job.
Great driver, very friendly and informative. Mt Vernon well worth going to. It was raining when we went but would be great on a sunny day. We missed some things due the weather.
This was an excellent tour. Our guide, Leroy, described the buildings along the way, stopped in Alexandria for us to see Christ Church and the Lee House, and made an extra effort to get us through the mansion in the same group. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.
This is the only trip that doesn't force you to have an 8:00 AM start time. We spent plenty of time in Mount Vernon to see everything we should have seen. Rob is one of the absolutely most knowledgeable DC tour guides anyone could find. He is also well-traveled which gives him a cutting edge above all others. He gave a lot of tidbits about the sites we past all throughout the bus ride which made the trip very pleasant and passed the time without even realizing it. He even provided bottled water if we needed it. Great trip! Great Guy! Great Guide!
This was a really neat tour to go on. It is a site that everyone will enjoy, and is really not to be missed.
Loved Mt. Vernon once we were dropped off. However, we couldn't visit a lot of the grounds because of the snow. On the hand, there was not a great crowd which was nice. I felt it was questionable whether the van could make the trip. It didn't seem in the best condition. I also thought more time would be spent in Alexandria.
