Visit the Lincoln Memorial

Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the US Capitol Visitor Center to begin this Viator VIP tour — a full-day tour of the US Capitol, a National Archives tour and a best of DC tour rolled into one.

**The rotunda for the US Capitol will be closed for the month of August 2016 and will not be able to be visited.**

Enjoy reserved entry into the United States Capitol for a guided walking tour of this historic building, home to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Watch a film on the history of government in the US, then continue exploring the building to learn about the country’s legislature. Along the way, see the Crypt, the large circular area on the first floor that supports the Rotunda, a domed, circular room on the second floor; National Statuary Hall, a chamber devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans and more.

Then return to the shuttle to look around and through the nation’s capital. See the outside of the United States Capitol and the White House, with stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (March 15 to October 16). Lunch is available for purchase on board the boat. Outside of those dates, visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City for shopping and lunch (own expense).

At the end of the tour, gain priority entrance into the National Archives Building for an up-close look at the original Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. These historic documents are housed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. The tour concludes at the National Archives Building.

It's a busy and fast tour, but was a great way to see and learn about DC. We did this tour on a Sat. And went back to the area's we wanted to see more. It worked out perfect.
The best part was Mary our tour guide! Incredible knowledge about DC.

The tour was excellent. It covered a great deal of ground that we would never have managed on our own. We took my mother-in-law with us and she was in a wheelchair. The tour guides took great care of us.

Our tour guide was Chris and he was hilarious, made sure we got all the information we needed on all the sites and when we got out and walked around he made sure we got every detail about the monuments.

This is a brilliant tour - we had John as our tour guide and Tony was our driver. I cannot fault either of them. It was a wirlwind tour and there is a lot of walking - probably about 8 miles! However you do get to see a huge amount of Washington's main attractions and we really didn't feel rushed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The included lunch is quite basic so if you are a big eater you may want to take more supplies. They do supply small bottles of water and ponchos if it rains. I would highly recommend this tour.

Christopher was an excellent source of knowledge and entertainment. Going in a group was great because I didn't want to travel downtown alone. Lunch on the boat was a nice break from the walking. I would definitely recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed this tour. Christopher the guide was a very bright young history graduate who clearly loved his city and was extremely knowledgeable about it. A really good way to see a lot of key sight's quickly. Only one very slight criticism was the packed lunches on the boat were a bit disappointing.
