More than we could have hoped for. We recommend the Duck Tour to everyone, young and old!
The Duck Boat cruise was awesome Captain Kent was very informative driving through the Mall area and all the state buildings and museum. The then plunge into the Navy/Marine Marina ramp was a great experience. Fun was had by all 19 aboard, 2 Connecticut, 2 England, 2 Netherlands, 2 France, 1 Scotland, 4 Chicago, the remainder from Florida..
Great tour and a fun experience. Wish it could have lasted longer with a few stops a long the way. Who knew that those amphibious vehicles could go on the freeway? Great tour guide!
It was fantastic, my grandsons loved every moment of the experience, the driver was well informed and had a great sense of humor. I was impressed with his vast knowledge of the area on land, and even his ability to speak on his years of experience in the D.C. area. I would highly recommend this tour piece for young and old, and especially for the comfort of the ride. L. Taylor, Athens, AL
Very informative tour. Tour lasts about 2 hours and you see highlights of the city.
Outstanding experience for ourselves and 10 year old granddaughter. The Captain of our Duck Boat was just outstanding with a perfect combination of humor, accommodation, facts and warmth.
We had Captain Kent and he was FABULOUS! The kids say this is the best of all the stuff we did in D.C. The kids loved the "quackers" side, the adults loved Capt. Kent's humor and all told, it was a great experience.
This was great fun. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Definitely would do it again.
It was awesome. Tour guide(driver) was very friendly, and informative. I will recommend this tour to any of my family and friends.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Route of tour very good. My granddaughter enjoyed "driving" the boat in the Potomac. Would recommend this as a fun way to get an overview of DC rather than riding a bus!
Very good for young children, ages 6-10. The captain let the kids ring the bell and steer the boat. They were thrilled with the duck calls also.
Excellent guide. Great fun. Best tour we had on this trip. New and interesting facts were shared.
Great family adventure. Capt. Jim was a great guide. The bonus was floating at the end of the runway at Reagan airport as the planes landed overhead!
Other than it being the hottest day in the world this was a fun and interesting tour of D.C. Our guide was full of information and humor and great with the children.
We took the trip to check it out for folks who come to visit us in DC. We thoroughly enjoyed it ourselves. You get a view of a few DC highlights in 1 1/2 hrs. You also get a view that few ever see near Ronald Reagan National Airport. We think the first tour in the morning is probably the best since the weather is usually cooler. Don't forget the sun screen lotion as we sat at the very back without the cover of the canopy- though those seats offer the best photo taking opportunities. And if the weather is really hot or cold, the trip could be very unpleasant.
The "DC Ducks" tour was outstanding. We took this tour recently -- my wife and I, along with our 7-year-old daughter and a couple of local friends from Maryland. None of us had ever done a duck boat tour, in any city.
We had some rain the morning of our tour, which slowed us down getting to Union Station for our 10AM departure. We were at the desk (near the front of Union Station) around 10 minutes to 10. We were the last 5 people on the 10AM tour, though on busy days, they "roll over" to a 30 minutes past the hour tour. So most days, you wouldn't be waiting an entire hour for the next tour.
As a result of our late arrival, we were at the back of the vehicle, and in fact myself and one of our friends were in the very back row, outside the canopy, on the wooden seats adjacent to the rear ladder / outboard motor. Not a big deal, and in fact the extra height gave us a little better view. The occasional rain was a minor hassle, but with the provided ponchos, we managed.
Our driver was great, very informative. About the only part I didn't like was when he took the duck (for a few short minutes a couple of times) on the highway. The duck boat isn't really capable of highway speeds, and the driver was deliberately slowing down, pointing out spots of interest. Sitting at the very back without a seatbelt, I was slightly nervous watching DC drivers barrel down us from behind!!
Still, a great experience. Driving from the streets of DC down into the Potomac is quite a thrill!
This tour was unique and we enjoyed it. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very entertaining during the tour.
