Was very nervous when the we got there and saw what seemed to be a party boat with drunken people acting loud and crazy. Then our boat came and the magic began. The boat was great the atmosphere was perfect, and they played great music. My date and i slow danced to a few songs and just enjoyed the experience. Men if you are looking to put your girl in the mood or get out of the dog house, then take her on this trip. You won't forget it!
The tour was OK it was crowded on the top of the boat. Compared to the others and the people we spoke with., we would use again
The cruise was pleasant and exactly as expected. The area to load is busy and there are several tour companies there, but ours was easy to spot as it had DC Cruises in big red letters on the side of the boat. Don't let the reviews throw you off. Just ask someone if you are nervous about missing the cruise.
The Moonlight Cruise was beautiful and it was a nice evening on a nice boat. But, my only complaint was that the place was hard to find and once we found the place we assumed the boarding was to take place we couldn't see the sign for the DC Cruis boat, or the boat for that matter. So, we asked another Boat group and showed them our paper work....they were confused and said they did't think that boat existed, so I thought we got ripped off until I talked to another guy and he pointed me to the sign that was correct. I paniced, by calling the phone number on my sheet and it was only recording. I then saw the DC boat arriving and asked the crew members and they said we were in the right spot and that we were scheduled for their boat. Thank goodness!
Lovely looking at the water and monuments but it wouldhave helped to have had a little narration for people who did not know the sights.
This cruise was ok but the name of the name of the boat was not clearly identified as the other boats were so we missed our 8:30 tour which we arrived for at 7:30. Therefore when we did get on the next boat which we had to wait for for over an hour, we were starving and wanted to rush the cruise along. We then ate after midnight.
music was a bit loud, wished there had been an "announcer" to tell us what different buildings were. Pleasant ride though
First off, the time that I picked wasn't even an actual time for the boat that night. When I booked this cruise, I chose a 7:30 launch time. We got down to the dock rather early, so thought maybe we'd see if we could squeeze onto the 6:00 cruise instead of sitting around waiting. Well, when we figured out which boat it was supposed to be (the signage and logistics there are terrible) it turned out that they had oversold the 6:00 cruise and were kicking people off the boat and not letting everyone else on. The owner did not seem very empathetic about the poor people that weren't getting on the boat either. He pretty much ran away from them. So, we waited around until 7:30, which was when we thought our boat was supposed to launch. There was no sign of the boat, and nobody was lining up near the little clapboard sign either. I went and asked all of the other boats around that were docking if they had any idea, and none of them knew where we should go. Awesome. Luckily, one guy said something to us in passing, and we realized that we were the only ones that had a 7:30 launch, not an 8:00 launch. Finally, the boat came back, and they took their sweet time getting it ready for us to get on. The folks that were denied passage on the 6:00 launch were quick to jump in the front of the line and demand to get on (can't say I blame them!) and then we finally were able to board. I showed the guy my tickets and said something about the 7:30 time, and all he said was, 'yea, I don't know why it gives the wrong time.' Gee, thanks. I'm glad I was down at the dock so early for nothing! Anyway, the cruise was okay. The music was cheesy, and there was a huge, already intoxicated party that boarded so I didn't try going downstairs to get a drink. You can see some of the sights that the tour lists, but certainly not all of them (definitely not the FDR monument) and there is no narrative so if you don't know where to look, you're outta luck. I would recommend the Pirate party boat instead!
This tour was disappointing and a waste of money. The tour guide only spoke over the intercom once in the hour long ride. The bar ran out of multiple drinks before the boat had even left the dock. And apparently a customer hooked their iPhone with bad music up to the stereo system.
Not what we expected. We were hoping for a nice moonlight tour with perhaps someone pointing out and sharing about the monuments. It was fine that there was not a guide sharing information, but the loud, blasting music played over the sound system was so distracting. We could not carry on a conversation it was so loud. Fortunately the DJ that was setting up on the upper tech had some technical issues and could not operate. There was no mention of a DJ in description. Had the music been more subtle and a different style then it would have been much more enjoyable. This was a waste of money and time for us.
I just wasn't impressed with the tour. There was no one to tell you about the sights unless you ask. I thought for the money paid it would have been a better deal. I think I would have got more out of the bus tour. The boat just went up the river and back. Very very disappointed in the trip. Should have saved my money. Would not recommend this trip to anyone.
