This was the one tour that I booked without researching properly, only to find that the best part of the day was to be spent at Mount Vernon, which I had already booked for us to visit via the cruise company on another day. Lunch was interesting. The afternoon consisted largely of a visit to the Arlington National Cemetery. Very impressive, especially the visit to the JFK memorial, but with all respect, the ceremony of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was a little over the top. The day was probably saved by the driver guide who ruled his coach with a rod of iron. The rest of the day consisted of some short visits to memorials and interesting commentary on the buildings we were passing, so in that respect it was useful to get our bearings. The best part of the package is the hotel pick up and delivery service which saved having to hike across the city to join the tours at an inconvenient location.

The tour was very nice and I enjoyed the Mt. Vernon portion. The Washington DC part was a little rushed but I would not have liked to take time from Mt. Vernon.

Thanks for the great tour, want to come back and see more. It's the only way to see all the sights in Washington DC.

The overall experience was very good and well worth doing. The only problem we had was with the hotel pickup. We chose a hotel nearby where we thought the tour bus picked up passengers. It turns out that the bus did not in fact stop at our hotel so we had to scramble to find the closest pickup point and get a taxi to take us there.

This tour is definitely worthwhile for anyone's first trip to our nation's capital. The stops seem well planned and the drive-bys give you a good sense of the city's geography to help plan more spots to see during the course of your vacation.

We were very disappointed as this was a gift from my son for Christmas. The tour company changed the tour and we did not get to see any of DC. It was changed to Mt. Vernon and Arlington Natl Cemetery. So the things we wanted to see like the Vietnam Memorial we never got to see. The tour company should let people know when they change the tour.

The time spent in Mount Vernon was way too long on a winter, cold day. Might want to change the time for going there to a shorter period when walking outside is not possible due to the cold.

Our tour guide did not speak very clearly. He talked very fast and mumbled. From what I was able to understand, he seemed know a lot about the area. Also, he used a hand held microphone to talk and thus drove the bus with only one hand almost all day, which made me and several others seated close to me uncomfortable.

What I did not like most of all is that we have too go from one corner of the city to the other to eat. We really did not have guide, he was just a bus driver.

Interesting. If you like war memorials, you will enjoy this tour a lot. We went in late March and there were long queues everywhere, I'd hate to be there during the summer holidays!

The trip to Mt Vernon was very nice as was the view of old Alexandria. I did not care to much for the Embassy Row tour, since it was nothing more than a rapid roll past and most of the buildings looked the same. Arlington was great. The whole trip started off badly because we were told it would leave at 8:30, was given a brochure when we picked up the tickets that said 8:30, only to find that the times had been changed. Once we got on the bus somewhere down the line, we were treated to an almost non-stop political assault by the driver. The driver is entitled to his political views, but I didn't pay money to hear them. He unfortunately has no idea of what my political views are, but I unfortunately had to listen to his. He should drive and leave the political commentary.

Too much time at Washington's house and cemetery. Tour could finish sooner and not have so much dead time.

We had a good day but the company was a little bit commercially minded, it lacked personal touch. Also you had to queue for a long time.
