Amazing scenery, friendly staff on board, easy trip, comfortable. Thanks!
We greatly enjoyed our 3 hour trip on the Inter islander ferry to Picton from W'ton..the ship is quite big with a wide range of food and drink and comfortable seating and we had a calm crossing
We took a Shuttle from the wharf in Picton to the excellent Anglesea Motel only five minutes walk from the main street, where we ate several times at a very good cafe call The Barn: in the main street and had lovely foodbreakfast available too
The Anglesea is an older type motel but recently renovated and we had a bedroomsleeps 3 and this was separate from a good big lounge and in back there was a fully equipped kitchen with stove etc it was only 99 per night and a real jewel...would be great for a family ...who might take 2 adjoining rooms, and the manager/owner was a mine of info re Picton etc
We went on to Christchurch with Kiwirail... on the new Coastal Pacific Express 5 hours which is a splendid train that follows the coast and gives spectacular views.. a .most comfortable train with a very good buffet and great food ...reached CHCH at 6.30 in time for dinner
Excellent views from the ship, checking in and luggage simple and efficient.
A bit of a scrum at check in but a fine ship and we were blessed with fine weather. It was very windy but you would not know it if you did not venture on deck. Having cruised many a time this wii
take your breath away for scenic views
EASY check-in (especially appreciated by 2 foreigners traveling in NZ for the first time), spectacular views, on time, easy disembarkment at Picton with luggage ready for pick-up. We'd recommend it to anyone.
Fantastic service and trip, really enjoyable even though the weather was not too good. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Good trip...tour made the traveling easy with no worrying about tickets or seats. Highly recommend Viator!
The ferry itself was absolutely stunning. We got lucky and the weather was great, so the water was very calm. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much they had to do on the ferry. They showed a movie, had a bar, coffee house, etc. We ended up sitting in the lookout spot for most of the trip though since the weather was so nice, so we were really able to enjoy the stunning views. Would highly recommend!
We were very lucky with the weather, clam sea and clear blue sky.
The booking-in, boarding process worked well and the staff were helpful and friendly.
The entrance into the south island via Queen Charlotte Sound offers stunning views and weather permitting a seat outside on the upper deck is a must.
It was a wonderful experience and I can't fault anything, and if the opportunity ever comes my way again I would love to repeat this trip. We'll polished and efficient. Alida Prinsloo South Africa
The trip was brilliant on the Interislander -as usual. What makes it is the spectacular scenery leaving the Wellington area and heading into Picton. The ferry is well equipped, you couldn't ask for anything else!
The arrangements for our Ferry trip from Wellington to Picton were flawless. No problems with the Viator booking at all, and everything went according to plan.
Thank you for your great help.

A leisurely cruise seeing the coastlines of both islands up close. Very comfortable with good on-board facilities. The only bad point was that all the freshly baked scones had been sold when we went to the cafe. However, the scrambled eggs were perfect.

We took the ferry as part of a day trip to the South Island to go wine tasting, and it was a gorgeous trip. The ferry itself is nice, with movies, food, etc to pass the time comfortably, but the best part of the journey is the beautiful scenery as you travel through the sound. There were plenty of outside and window seats to have a drink and enjoy the view, and it was a very relaxing trip.
Good service, plenty of seating areas, food available, easy to disembark
Fun ride, but pouring rain the entire time and foggy.....hope to try again someday!
beautiful 3+ hour ride between the islands. Worth the time. However, there is no other reason to go to Wellington. A typical small city, nothing special
