Get of the road on the half-day Lord of the Rings tour
Your guide will take you into the heart of the Lord of the Rings, with the wealth of their knowledge this brings the following locations to life: Outskirts of the Shire (get off the road), Race to the Ferry, Rivendell, Fords of Isen, Gardens of Isengard, River Anduin, Minas Tirith and Helms Deep.
The first location visited is Mount Victoria and the 'recreation greenbelt' where the Hobbits hid and were chased by Ringwraiths. From Mount Victoria, drive north to explore the Hutt Valley as well as the Hutt River (Anduin) and Harcourt Park (Isengard). In Kaitoke Regional Park, included is morning/afternoon tea under the elevish trees of the Rivendell location. You will also spend time at Minas Tirith and Helms Deep and old quarry closed to general visitors. If you have an interest in the Lord of the Rings, and want a unique Wellington experience in only 4 hours, then this is the tour for you.

We were greeted by very friendly guide named Mike, although it was a rainy morning his enthusiam for the subject of the Lord of the rings tour was great. Being in a small group was also good, as at each site visited we could gather around Mike as he showed us vision on his ipad of the location as it was in the movie. There was also no other crowds at any of the locations. We enjoyed the morning tea supplied and fresh muffins. I would recommend this tour to anyone else visiting Wellington, as you got to see some lovely parks and a trip to the top of wellington's lookout, great views.
