What You Can Expect
It was awesome! Would love to go back!
Wear appropriate footwear for short trek up Mt. Victoria.
Cameras are not allowed inside the Weta studio itself.
Absolutely loved every minute of this tour. Weta studios was fantastic.
Our guide, Laura, was very knowledgeable and a true LOTR fan. She had lots of inside information about the filming of the movies and has inspiredf me to come back home and watch them all over again so that I can see the places we visited. Thank you for a fabulous day.
Great to see some of the places where fixing occurred. The Weta Workshop tour was also fabulous. Craig was really knowledgeable, friendly and a expert guide.
This is one of the best tours I ever have done. Craig our guide was really well informed and loved his subject. The staff at Weta Studios who truly love their job were amazing, a very talented group.
Enjoyed the tour very much. Would do the full day tour next time.
Had a ball. We were the only 2 people on the tour so get special attention and even experienced an earthquake!
Dude was great! Did the 1/2 day tour and it was worth it.
We had a great time. Our guide was really excited about us seeing all the aspects of the tour. As we toured the sights where they shot scenes, Mike (our guide) showed the scenes on his iPad and pointed out exactly what part we were looking at and what elements of the scene were digitally added or shot somewhere else. I don't know if that's standard on these tours but I thought it was great. I felt the best part was Mike's knowledge and excitement about the material. It would be easy to have a guide who just brings you somewhere and shows you the sights, but having someone who obviously enjoys the subject and enjoys what they're doing makes all the difference.
Nathan (he was an elf!) was so nice and so much fun. We only had the half day tour in Wellingotn which is really beautiful. I wish we could have taken the whole day tour. Weta workshop is cool but they should make it bigger to see more of the props from the movies. I think they are working on it.
