Board your comfortable minivan and travel to the Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel, your base for three nights. This charming 4-star hotel on the edges of Bowness sits in gardens overlooking Lake Windermere, and occupies a Victorian house once owned by Beatrix Potter.

Day 2: Bowness – Ten Lakes Spectacular Tour - Bowness (B, D)After breakfast, meet your driver-guide at your hotel and head out in your shared minivan on your Ten Lakes tour. The tour showcases the best of the Lake District, taking you through magnificent mountain scenery to ten stunning lakes and other beauty spots.
Along the way, admire the surrounding fells and talk to your guide about the history, events and people that have shaped this much-loved National Park. Skirt the banks of Lake Windermere, and stretch your legs in the pretty village of Ambleside. After a photo stop at Rydal Water, continue to Grasmere and Thirlmere reservoir before traveling through the Borrowdale Valley to Bassenthwaite Lake and then negotiating Honister Pass.
Next, visit the village of Buttermere and travel onward to Keswick via Crummock Water. Enjoy free time to walk around and enjoy lunch (own expense) in this charming market town before heading for Castlerigg Stone Circle. Inspect the stones as your guide recounts how they were probably placed here in around 3,000 BC.
Before your tour ends, enjoy a scenic lake cruise and a photo-stop at a picture-postcard waterfall. Then, return to Bowness, arriving at your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3: Bowness – High Mountain Passes Spectacular Tour - Bowness (B, D)Following breakfast, set off on your High Mountain Passes Spectacular tour. Focusing on the western Lake District, this full-day tour follows the path of Roman Emperor Hadrian’s legions in the 2nd century AD, when they built roads through the high passes.
Thrill on the steep ascents of Wrynose Pass and Hardknott Pass — the latter England’s steepest road — and pass the ruined Roman fort of Hardknott Fort before absorbing epic views of Upper Eskdale and Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain.
Continue to Ravenglass and enjoy a ride on the miniature Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow-gauge railway. Gaze at the ancient woodlands and fells of Eskdale from your cozy carriage, and after lunch (own expense) at a country inn, stop to contemplate the famously beautiful views over Wastwater, England’s deepest lake.
Visit Muncaster Castle, a magnificent 14th-century house famed for its flower-filled gardens and World Owl Centre, home to some of the world's most beautiful and rare owls. Stroll around the gardens and visit the center; or if the house is open, enjoy an interior tour (own expense).
Lastly, admire Coniston Fells and Coniston on route back to your hotel, where dinner is served this evening.

The trip was very nice, and with good weather we enjoyed it even better.
I don't want to upload photos and don't want you to send me more inquiries.
Please no more. Thank you.
Excellent tour and accommodations. I would highly recommend this trip.
Hotel was superb. Meals outstanding, service great. The tours of the Lake District were gorgeous, informative and fun. Would highly recommend this tour.
Great tour, amazing food, and beautiful scenery. Tour company provided excellent customer service.
Everything was excellent .The Mountain Goat tours were fantastic and the accommodation at Lindeth Howe was great
The two day trips were a great introduction to the lakes district. A large area was covered with gifted guides with lots of local knowledge. I'm planning my next trip back to complete some of the splendid walks. My accommodation was excellent: the staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfortable. The stand out component of my stay was the 3 course meal served each night. It was innovative and delicious, a job well done
This was a wonderful, and unforgettable trip. The Lindeth Howe Hotel was quite charming, the food was wonderful. The staff from the Mountain Goat, the travel service which took me on my daily tours were knowledgeable and adept at navigating the narrow roads. This is a good tour for the single traveller.

Great hotel with efficient staff and really good dinners. I was given the Westmorland Suite and that was fantastic! No mini fridge but otherwise really excellent. 2 full day Mountain Goat tours were interesting. Staff in the Windermere office were very helpful. Overall I enjoyed my trip - better weather would have made things perfect. I can't pin this disappointment on anyone so would definitely recommend this tour to people in the UK and abroad.
