What You Can Expect

Lake District Tour from Windermere: Ten Lakes in One Winter Day

Admire the beauty of the Lake District at winter time on your tour!

Meet your coach for morning pickup at Windermere Tourist Information Center. Once aboard, sit back and relax as you journey through Lake District National Park. Marvel at the majestic landscape, home of England’s tallest peak and deepest lake. The area’s preserved natural beauty makes it a favorite location for peace-seeking city dwellers and outdoors enthusiasts!

Cruise along the shores of Lake Windermere and stop into the lovely town of Ambleside, where you’ll have time to explore the town’s charming bookshops, gift shops, cafes and pubs. Then continue north to Rydal Water for some magnificent vista shots, and Grasmere Village, where charming limestone cottages tuck into verdant hills.

Next, visit the region’s northern lakes including Thirlmere – Cumbria’s main reservoir – Bassenthwaite Lake and Crummock Water. Wind through the rocky Honister Pass to the quaint Buttermere Village and then on to the Cumbrian capital of Keswick. Here, you’ll have some time to independently explore the bustling town and enjoy a relaxing lunch (own expense).

The final leg of your trip stops at Castlerigg Stone Circle, one of the region’s great prehistoric monuments. Walk through the mysterious site and enjoy stunning views of Skiddaw, Blencathra and Lonscale Fell, then relax as you head back into Windermere, passing Ullswater and Brothers Water en route.

You’ll arrive back at the departure point in the afternoon.

I absolutely loved the tour! Even though the amounts of rain there had fallen and was falling, it still was amazing. The stunning views and Tony who has the most perfect voice while giving all the explanations. Listening to him while driving through the stunning scenary, really lets you dream off. Really worth to do, certainly when it is, like me, the first time travelling to the lake district :
You stop at beautiful scenary places and picture perfect stunning views

I would highly recommend this trip.
It is especially worth it if you are visiting the Lake District for the first time and would like to see some breathtaking views, and be taken on a whistle stop tour of the lakes, by a knowledgeable and friendly guide, who will answer any questions and give suggestions with places of special interest and the best way to see more of them, at a later date. Stunning scenery, plenty of time to take photos at regular intervals, our guide Chris was a Mecca of information, but was also left individuals to drink in the views whilst quietly chauffeuring us around. A very good tour
