After meeting with your guide in Yangshuo, spend some time setting up and getting familiar with your bike before following your guide on a short ride into the rural region of the county. Then, embark on scenic, guided bike ride of 18 to 24 miles (30 to 40 km). Riding routes tend to change daily and a shorter or more challenging ride can be arranged upon request.
The back country of Yangshuo boasts gorgeous landscapes combining rows of karst mountains, interesting caves, sprawling rice paddies, lush forests and serene rivers. Pass by quaint villages featuring ancient architectures and displaying local village life. Midway through your biking adventure, stop at a local restaurant to enjoy traditional Chinese food (at own expense) or a lunch that you packed yourself.
Sample Riding Route:
Follow your guide on a bike ride alongside the Li River to enjoy gorgeous countryside and river views. Arrive at Du Tou village and take a local ferry across the Li River to the village of Fuli. If you get to Fuli during market day, browse through the various booths that offer a variety of local produce, Chinese herbs and medicine and more.
Take the ferry back across the Li River and continue riding to Liu Gong village, where you will stop to explore an ancient Ming Dynasty building by the riverside. Follow your guide along dirt roads to Moon Hill and Dragon River and admire the gorgeous countryside before making your way back to Yangshuo.
Please note: You can make requests to see specific routes and sites, but if there are multiple route requests within one tour group, not all requests can be met.
