Fantastic tour, money well spent! Our guide was great and had a wealth of knowledge.
Lovely day out, our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend, especially if you only have a limited amount of time to spend in Switzerland and want to fit in the alps :
Worth EVERY FREAKIN penny! Not only were we able to see the countryside on our comfortable bus ride to the mountain, but we enjoyed majestic views from the ride up via gondola to the ride down via world's steepest cog-wheel train. We enjoyed lunch at the top of the mountain while listening to alp-horns. Best experience of our European vacation!
This was a stand out tour we had an amazing time the views from the top of Mt Pilatus are spectacular the ride up in the Gondola's are superb we had a great lunch and then went down in the steep decline train 50 degrees amazing then on to lake Lucerne what can you say highly recommended
The tour was very nice and well paced. When we were able to walk around Lucerne the tour guide was very helpful in explaining the points of interest and to walk around the old town section. I met a wonderful Indian couple on the trip and we enjoyed the gondola ride up the mountain. Mount Pilatus had a few trails to take that were very nice and some places to eat lunch or for a quick snack. The cog train ride down the mountain was exciting since it is the steepest cog railroad. The boat ride to Lucerne was wonderful as well.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He even went out of his way to make certain that we found the correct train to depart after the tour. We would certainly recommend this tour !!!
Very nice day out, guide was informative and helpful and overall a great experience.
The weather was kind to us so the trip was too good, should be a must for every tourist to Swittzerland, guide was good. The climb is great, the scene from top is great, the descent too is good. The boat ride back to Lucerne was again something great.
What a great experience! If you have a day to spare, this is a great way to see some great sights. The bus got off the main highway for the trip down to see some of the countryside, we had a short stay in Lucerne but enough time to walk around the old town and the trip to Pilatus was just stunning. Got lucky with a fairly clear day. You have a lot of time to see the sights and get some lunch on the mountaintop. You'll never forget the gondola ride up nor the cogwheel train ride down. An hour on the boat back to Lucerne was a pleasant end to the day. The highlight of the trip, though, was our tour guide Daniel. He was the perfect guide -- knowledgeable, friendly and had the perfect touch to keep us together and on time. Thanks for a memory of a lifetime!
The views from Mount Pilatus were extraordinary!!! This tour is very worth while.
overall, the tour experience is very good. I hope next time we can stay in Lucern for a little bit longer. to do that, maybe we can short the time on the top of the Pilatus
Excellent tour. Andreas, our guide and driver did an excellent job and was very informative. Didn't get to do the Cog Wheel Train or Boat because it was too early in the season, but lunch on top of the mountain was a real treat.
The tour was absolutely breathtaking. Rita and Robert were amazing throughout the whole thing. Everything was very organized and fun. The views from the mountain was exquisite, was definitely worth the money.
This trip was a highlight of our time in Switzerland ! The weather on our day-trip wasn't perfect some very high cloud but it did clear at times to give us beautiful views. The bus trip and our guide Rosemary were awesome !, we had a good amount of time in Lucerne before taking the cable cars to the summit then a nice lunch.
The trip down the mountain on the 'cog wheel railway' is not to be missed - excellent views. Then finally the boat ride across the lake topped off a beautiful day.. DO not miss this tour it is lovely and good value.
Well organized trip. Everyone enjoyed the day. The scenery was outstanding.
The tour was fantastic! I wish that instead of an hour in Lucerne, they will have given us an hour and half. My only disappointment was that when I booked this tour, I selected the Swissotel to be picked up following the instructions of the booking and found by the operator that they did not pick at this hotel. I was not staying in that hotel, but it didn't specify that you needed to stay in that hotel. Luckyly enough, the operator site was not far from my hotel and we were able to take the subwayto the main train station.
Liked it very much!
The host repeated everything too many times though.
This trip turned out to be one of the best scenic tours we have been on. We had an absolutely wonderful day and our guide was so knowledgeable and helpful in every way.
We would highly recommend this tour as one not to be missed.
Sandra and Phil
excellent tour guide and great day despite uncooperative weather.
he was very personable and articulate.
A memorable and wonderful trip up to Mount Pilatus that should not be missed when you are in Zurich. The whole journey to Mount Pilatus was very scenic, starting from a comfortable bus ride from Zurich to Lucene, one hour tour in beautiful Lucene city and cable car and train ride to and from Mount Pilatus. The boat ride back to Lucene was just fantastic with spectacular and breathtaking scenic mountain and lake views.
This trip provided a great way to spend a day. Lucerne is a beautiful city. We really enjoyed spending time walking around observing the activity and sitting around the pristine lake. The gondola ride up to the top of Mount Pilatus was fun and the rail car ride down was steep. Make sure to get a seat on the window of the rail car, as opposed to getting stuck in the middle like we did. The ferry ride was a great way to see all the shoreline of the lake. Great day! Well worth the $.
One piece of advice... Our tour guide gave us the option to ride the toboggan sled track down a portion of the mountain at the point where you make the switch from one gondola car to a second to get to the summit of the mountain. My wife and I decided to do it, while the rest of the group went straight to the summit. We took the sled ride, which was fun (supposedly the longest in the Alps) and then took the second gondola ride up after and met the rest of the group at the Summit later. While the sled was a good time, it was a longer than expected line to get a sled and took a about an hour out of our time that we had to view all the breathtaking views from the top of the mountain when we finally got there. Therefore, we felt rushed and only had about 20 minutes to hike around and see all the views at the top, which is not near enough time. It was our decision to do the sled, so we had no one to blame but ourselves for feeling rushed at the top. So if you are a thrill seeker that enjoys sleds and speed, etc. you can attempt the toboggan sled ride. However, if you want to be sure to have ample time to view all the sites from the top of the mountain then skip it. We wish we would've in this case, but overall, the trip was still a blast!
