Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Swiss Alps Day Trip from Zurich: Jungfraujoch and Bernese Oberland. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
As I in Zurich for a total of 5 days, at the beginning the weather forecast is not ideal for exploring to the alps but I decided to gamble my chance therefore I the trip to Jungfraujoch on Saturday. Turns out the weather was fantastic and on the tour an awesome guide. His detail explanation and proper guidances allow us to explore the place to the fullest.
Number 1 MUST GO trip, Scenery at Interlaken is fabulous, although time spend there was a bit short. Ideally another hour there will be good. then proceed to Jungfraujoch. Cogwheel was nice experience. This is more indoor, unlike Mount Titlis. Guide, Valerie from the tour is very informative and helpful. Realised Lindt chocolate is cheaper in Munich than in Zurich. Tiring journey but worth every minute of it.
This is one of the most spectacular tours I have ever been on. The views are beyond description, awesome does not do them justice. There are two options to stop on the way up the mountainside, where you can get off the train to take photos. You must do this as the photo opportunity is great. The guide was lovely and very knowledgeable and made sure the whole thing ran very smoothly. Facilities are all there and plenty of toilet facilities. Listen to the guide when he tells you to go slowly as you get higher due to the high altitude, it really can make you feel queasy. Buy your Lint chocolate from the shop there, its much cheaper than in the city. Only downer is that it is a long day with lots of travelling, but well worth it when you see this place. You must go.
Ex tour in mid Nov. Weather good in morning then in mts turned to large flakes of snow, which was ex for many in the group who hadn't seen snow ,but poor for those who hoped to see the mts. Next time perhaps. Ice Palace fascinating. Rail trip up and down worth going anyway. Guide Michelle very good over whole trip.
This was the most AMAZING tour I have ever done. It felt like we were at the top of the world.....I would recommend this trip to anyone who is planning a trip to Zurich. So glad we did this.
Really wonderful experience, the guide was very good and took the tour with perfect way
Tour was well paced and guide was very informative. She shared with us information about things we saw along the way and not just about Jungfrau. However, I wish I knew that it was possible to be picked up from interlaken. Would've saved me a trip all the way to Zurich.
The highest mountain I have ever been. It was magical and majestic. Highly recommended.
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL. picture postcard... our tour guide Peter was superrrrr!! the entire trip was amazing..
A fantastic tour with some stunning scenery and memorable train-rides. An experienced, friendly, and responsible guide. I would recommend this tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The driver was skilled. The sights were amazing. I give a 5 star rating for those reasons. However, this tour might not be for everyone. It's a large group. Our bus had 2 levels and every seat was filled. There were at least 50 people. Some people brought babies and toddlers which isn't a good idea for a 12 hour trip in such a high altitude. The kids were not happy which led to a lot of crying. On the way to the top of the mountain, the train is in a tight tunnel for about 20 minutes. It didn't bother me, but I have some claustrophobic friends who would have freaked out. The air is very thin at the top. People with respiratory problems should use caution. But, it's too beautiful to miss! We are very glad we went.
