Tour was well paced and guide was very informative. She shared with us information about things we saw along the way and not just about Jungfrau. However, I wish I knew that it was possible to be picked up from interlaken. Would've saved me a trip all the way to Zurich.
The highest mountain I have ever been. It was magical and majestic. Highly recommended.
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL. picture postcard... our tour guide Peter was superrrrr!! the entire trip was amazing..
A fantastic tour with some stunning scenery and memorable train-rides. An experienced, friendly, and responsible guide. I would recommend this tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The driver was skilled. The sights were amazing. I give a 5 star rating for those reasons. However, this tour might not be for everyone. It's a large group. Our bus had 2 levels and every seat was filled. There were at least 50 people. Some people brought babies and toddlers which isn't a good idea for a 12 hour trip in such a high altitude. The kids were not happy which led to a lot of crying. On the way to the top of the mountain, the train is in a tight tunnel for about 20 minutes. It didn't bother me, but I have some claustrophobic friends who would have freaked out. The air is very thin at the top. People with respiratory problems should use caution. But, it's too beautiful to miss! We are very glad we went.
Jungfraujoch was an unforgettable experience but I wish I had more time to totally enjoy the fun park. Robert, our tour guide was informative and patient. The stop over to Interlaken was a great idea.
The tour was one of the highlights of my vacation! The tour departs from near the central station in Zurich and was prompt and with little downtime, meaning that most of the 12 hours was filled with gorgeous sightseeing. Our tour guide, Michelle, was courteous, knowledgeable, and kept the group moving on schedule effortlessly. The tour includes about a 2 hour bus ride to Interlaken with a brief (30-40 minute) stop. The bus ride isn't bad, since the scenery and countryside that is so beautiful it felt like a quick 20 minute drive. It's enough to walk up and down the main street for about a 1/2 mile and back while popping into a couple of shops and stretching your legs. The tour continues with a quick bus ride to the train station and gorgeous vistas of the 3 peaks that are the highlight of the tour. The journey to the Top of Europe station was another 90 or so minutes (with about 30 minutes going through a dark tunnel inside the mountain, but used for some interesting facts from the tour guide). We spend about 90 minutes on the peak of the mountain which was plenty of time to see the attractions. There is an opportunity to go outside onto the snow, which I would highly recommend, but it was extremely cold in September, so pack accordingly. There are a couple of eating options, but are very expensive and the food was not particularly amazing. I would suggest brining snacks, because aside from the 90 minutes at the Top of Europe station and attractions, there is virtually no down time to grab water or a bite to eat. The tour continues with a train going back down the mountain and into Wenger where the coach awaits to begin the journey back. I would highly recommend this tour!
One if the best experience in my life. We went on beginning of September and the weather was shifting. It was cloudy when we got to the top but the journey uphill and downhill was under perfect weather. Would recommend this to everyone. If you aim for this trip, it's better to stay at interlaken or lucern since the trip will be shorter and you will have more time at the top.
I agree with all the other reviews. This is a well run tour with plenty of gorgeous scenery. Our guide, Valerie, was knowledgeable and kept the group on schedule which is important. As others have said, there is not much time in Interlaken, but that is OK because Interlaken is just a tourist trap for Swiss watch shoppers. We had plenty of time on the Jungfrau to explore and get lunch. There is no dinner stop on the trip back to Zurich, but we gad some snacks with us. Be sure to participate in the trip to the top because the views, if the weather is nice, are priceless.
For those who like Clint Eastwood movies, I will say that I felt like Dr. Jonathan Hemliock while standing at the base of the Eiger in Kleine Scheidegg. I could recall in my head the line by George Kennedy, "I knew there'd be death on that mountain", especially as we rode past the ice fields.
Well worth the money and time.
