Finca El Pilar protects approximately 400 hectares of different types of forest. The conservation work of this reserve is very important for local communities, as it provides them free of vital ecosystem goods and services such as water. Likewise, the forest of Finca El Pilar has the highest levels of biodiversity in all of Antigua Guatemala, recording more than 180 species of birds and the greatest diversity of bat species in the area. El Pilar is also located in Cerro El Cucurucho, the highest mountain in the area reaching an altitude of 2650 meters above sea level. During the trek, we ascend through different paths, gaining an altitude of one thousand meters. The ascent and descent is done through different routes, in which there is always something interesting to observe.
