We had Massie has our driver and our guide. He was unbelievable and helped make this experience a unique and memorable one. We got to taste amazing wines and I can't wait for my orders of Brunello. The beauty of this wine region cannot be put into words and just has to be experienced first hand. This tour will give you everything you could possibly want in a wine tour with breathtaking views, excellent wine and amazing food. All the wineries have a great system for ordering wine, grapa and olive oil. There is no comparison on the quality of the wild boar salami and the pecorino cheese. This is just simple a must do if you have time in tuscany and want a great wine tour. We took 3 wine tours and the wineries we went to on this tour had the best wines.
Not exactly as we expected from start to finish. Our driver was switched out the morning of the trip and we weren't sure if he knew exactly what the expectations for the tour was. He drove very fast and that was somewhat alarming. We went to three different wineries and sampled delicious wines, bread and cheese. We were supposed to have lunch at the third winery but were served more cheese, bread, along with salami for lunch which did not exactly meet our expectations. When we got back into the van, the driver asked me what we were given for lunch and I told him. He said, "No pasta, lasagna?" I told him no food other than bread, cheese, salami and of course wine tastings. It was not exactly the kind of trip I would recommend for people who wanted to savor the Tuscan experience and learn a little about wine. The tour operators need to lock down their plans and instead of just driving us, they should check that the experience we are having is exactly what they are selling to us. It could have been much better for the price that was charged.

Brunello di Montalcino Wine Tour of 3 Wineries with Pairing Lunch
From $255.46 (Price varies by group size )
, Nov 2019
Solaria was nice. Costello Tricherce was OUTSTANDING. Underground at Montepouliciano was ok. It was cold downstairs. It was supposed to be a pairing lunch and it was not. It was barely even a lunch. Our driver was fantastic. The driver and Tricherce keep this at 4 because they were outstanding.
I booked this tour based on the reviews I'd read here, expecting a personalized, custom feeling experience. I expected wineries that I couldn't otherwise find, an engaged tour guide, and a generally great day.
While the tour technically included all the pieces in the listing, it didn't quite live up to expectations. Our drive was 30 min late to pick us up, with no notice. This plus an accident meant that we missed the tour of our first winery completely. The wines themselves were lovely. Stop two was great - much smaller, friendly guide, good wine. But our third winery felt like a giant tourist trap. The winery guide was disinterested, reciting lines, and only engaging with us to rattle off a description before pouring the next taste. The wines themselves were fine, but nothing great - and definitely nothing that felt like the capstone for the tour.
Our driver didn't speak much English. He was friendly, but spent most of the day completely silent, or on the phone. I hoped for more local information (per reviews here), but that just wasn't the case for us. As the last drop off, we got back to our hotel around 19:-0-... giving us an exhausting 10.5hr day that just didn't quite meet what the prior reviews set me to expect.
