The Basics

Many travelers visit Antelope Canyon on photography tours to capture the colors and shapes of the canyon's sinuous walls or to spot local wildlife, such as the pronghorn antelope. Often, Antelope Canyon tours also visit Lake Powell or nearby Horseshoe Bend, a scenic viewpoint overlooking a curve in the Colorado River. Slot canyon tours from Flagstaff and Sedona typically include round-trip transportation. Other more comprehensive multi-day tours of the southwest depart from Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon National Park.

Antelope Slot Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Day Tour from Sedona
From the outlet, our Driver (Dominic) set the tone for the day - arrived early and he was very personable. The drive was smooth and full of historical insights from Dom. The van was clean and comfortable. The stop at Horseshoe Bend was a nice surprise, but Antelope Canyon was breathtaking and no words can describe. Our on-site tour guide Leonard was off the hook - informative and helpful with the best spots for pictures. Would rate the entire day a 10+ if possible.

Lower Antelope Canyon Tour
Four friends traveled to Page, AZ to tour the lower antelope canyon in early may. It was worth the price of our 10-day trip from the east coast. Recommend going early in the day to avoid the heat. A remarkable adventure!

1 Day Limousine Lower Antelope Canyon + Canyon X + Horseshoe Bend Tour from Page
Being able to see the famous Canyon X and Horseshoe Bend. Unable to see The Lower Antelope Canyon due to extremely high winds but Viator kind enough to promptly refund us that portion of our tour. Bing, our tour guide was very courteous and respectful! Don’t find those qualities these days in people. Thank you, Bing, for an awesome experience! Maybe next time we’ll see the rest of Antelope Canyon :)

3-Day Tour: Sedona, Monument Valley, and Antelope Canyon
Being close to the majestic buttes and mesas of Monument Valley was awesome. Antelope Canyon was a great example of nature's art. Valley of Fire confirmed the variety of landscapes even in the desert. Oak Creek Canyon was stunningly beautiful.

Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Private Luxury Car Tour
We went in a Private tour with Ken and it was amazing. He picked us up promptly at the scheduled time. Ken was informative, and made our trip worth every penny. We got a first hand experience to both Horseshoe and Antelope canyon. We will definitely book again with Ken and this was an amazing experience. Definitely worth the bucket list trip.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • This Navajo nation landmark can only be seen with an authorized tour guide.

  • Bring your camera and a tripod for long exposure shots—photography enthusiasts travel from all over to snap photos of Antelope Canyon.

  • The more popular of the two, Upper Canyon is easily walkable thanks to a level sandy surface but not easily accessible for wheelchair users.

  • Lower Canyon involves a longer walk that requires climbing metal staircases and is therefore totally inaccessible to wheelchair users.

When to Get There

Although the canyon is open year-round, many travelers consider March through October to be the best time to visit, mainly because of the favorable lighting conditions at that time of year. This lighting makes for a stellar display in the dark canyons, with the sun illuminating the cracks and crevices of the colorful canyon's red rock walls. Expect temperatures near 100°F (38°C) in summer.
