Our tour guide Tad was so funny. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city mixed with some of the spooky occurrences! I highly recommend doing this tour if you are looking for something different to do. It is not scary at all, so if that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. If you are a fan of ghost hunters and enjoy stories of happenings, you will get it on this tour!! I would totally do it again!
Take a spooky stroll through the streets of downtown Asheville on this ghost walking tour. Led by an expert local guide, learn about the area’s hair-raising tales and dark history, like the woman who haunts the Omni Grove Park Inn, the body entombed in the wall of the Basilica of St. Lawrence and much more. It's a fascinating, spine-tingling adventure.
Jay was awesome as a tour guide to the Pisgah National Forest. Not only did he take me to places I did not know about but the tips he gave me to improve my photography were priceless. This is a must do for the person who enjoys taking pictures and wants to up there game with their pictures.
We’ll work directly with you to create a custom, private tour that is perfect for you and your needs. We’ll pick a scene that fits your preferences and your fitness level. This is ideal for travelers looking to go off the beaten path. And we pick you up!
We offer small, private tours that focus on helping you capture better photos. Our tours take you to the most breathtaking locations across the Blue Ridge Mountains that only the locals know about.
Our award-winning photographers know the Blue Ridge Mountains better than anyone else in the area! We know which spots offer the best photography opportunities at specific times of the year or at any given time of the day.
Our guide was awesome. My wife and I are both very nerdy people with engineering and biology. We asked him many questions and he answered them all. He did a great job of fulfilling our inner nerd. I would recommend Cliff (our tour guide) very highly. He was wonderful!
It was Simi interesting
It seemed like we were going around a point that was never reached
Could be because it was an outside tour and it was freezing cold
Also there were dead zones while we waited for the guide to get on line to get each new beer
No cohesion with the group
This is one of the best brewery tours I've taken. We visited three breweries and sampled nine beers if memory serves correctly. We didn't have to wait either; we began sampling beer from the outset. Our guide, Cliff, was a great storyteller and witty to boot. We got to learn about the city's history and how the brewery scene became so big in Asheville. This tour was an excellent value and is a must for anyone who enjoys beer and history.
Asheville’s reputation as one of the top cities for brews in the Southeast is well-deserved, but the huge number of breweries to choose from can be intimidating for visitors. Discover which breweries are worth the hype on this Asheville brewery tour, which takes you to craft breweries with behind-the-scene access and ample pours at each. Unlike other Asheville brewery tours, this one is led by a certified cicerone, a recognized expert when it comes to beer.
There is no better way to DISCOVER and EXPLORE Asheville! Hop-on board one of Gray Line’s nostalgic trolleys for a fully narrated journey, highlighting the history, homes, hang-outs and hot spots of this “city of surprises.” The complete tour (one loop) lasts approximately 90 to 100 minutes. There is an additional 15 minute stop at the Asheville Visitor Center. The Hop-On/Hop-Off Tour ticket is valid for TWO consecutive days.
Tour Highlights include Downtown Asheville, Montford Historic District, The Grove Park Inn and Grove Park Historic District, Thomas Wolfe District, Pack Square and Asheville Art Museum, Grove Arcade, River Arts District, and Biltmore Village.
Trolley hours vary by season. April - October (daily, every 30 minutes), November - December (daily, every 60 minutes), January - February (Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat, every 60 minutes), March (daily, every 60 minutes). *Please Note: Final departures are for re-boarding passengers only.
Keith, our guide, is very knowledgeable and explained much of the history as we drove through the autumn colours of the Parkway. The various waterfalls are spectacular and Keith was very attentive to the various needs of his guests and patient with us..
Hike the best of the Blue Ridge Parkway on this guided day trip to three scenic waterfalls from Asheville. Take in views of the mountains as you tour the classic road in a comfortable van and hear stories about the area’s natural history and culture from your local guide. Watch for blooming laurels and rhododendron as you walk the easy to moderate trails through lush oak and hickory forests. Enjoy light refreshments along the way with plenty of time to relax by the falls before returning to Asheville.
AVL Beer Bus is Asheville's only hop-on/hop-off beer bus. Unlike the other tours in Asheville, AVL Beer Bus is not a tour. You hop on and hop off at you leisure. The bus runs to seven different breweries on a continuous loop so, you can experience all seven at your own pace. Stay as long as you want at any brewery on the route or move on within the hour.
This review is about our hiking tour with Natasha.
Natasha is a very good guide. She made hiking very comfortable for us.We had a very good time.
The view during the hike and especially the falls was very beautiful. We had a nice breakfast too which was vegan with some fruits and juices.
Natasha is very knowledgeable ,interactive and a good photographer. I would definitely recommend this hike even for the beginners.
Natasha was amazing. We wouldn’t have made it all the way to the top of the falls without her guidance and assistance. She provided well needed walking cans, information throughout the walk and a great breakfast.
Thank you so much!
We shall hike c. 2.4 miles with approx. 60 mins of hiking.
Following a 30 minute drive, we hike to the top of the falls which is about a 30 minute hike. En route we discover plant life in the region and watch & listen for wildlife. At the summit we will marvel at the beauty of the falls and enjoy a continental breakfast (sitting on rocks or on the side, there are no picnic tables/chairs). It's beautiful & rustic, as mother nature intended!
Bring a camera, there are lots of things along the way in addition to the falls.
Wear sneakers/hiking boots and dress in layers. It can start out much colder in the morning.
Guests should be in good physical shape and able to hike at a steady pace of 3 miles per hour at a constant incline for 1.2 miles in each direction. There will be a brook to cross over and a few rocky areas. Hiking poles are provided for your convenience.
If you book a single traveler rate and another person books onto the tour, we will refund you the difference in cost.
This tour provided a wonderful overview of Asheville and its history. Our guide, Kevan, is an Asheville native and he could not have been more friendly and helpful. He is very knowledgeable about the city and provided great tips on places to visit. My particular interest is architecture, and I was happy we were able to see so many of the city's historic buildings. This tour is an excellent value, and a must for history and architecture buffs.

Get to know Asheville… we had walked around the downtown a for a few days before taking the Segway tour. We were surprised about how much we had missed. Highly recommend taking the tour early on during your stay. Scott was informative and we’re still not sure how he taught 5 adults, all new to Segways, how to ride and be out on the tour in such a short amount of time!

We have taken many tours in the Asheville area but this was our all-time favorite. Natasha was brilliant. She had so much knowledge of the area and made it such a fun evening. The sunset at the top of the world was just stunning. She topped off our hike with a yummy picnic which was such a lovely touch. Take this tour and you will be talking about it for a long time. J&G from Savannah

Great tour of the waterfalls, the views did not disappoint. Mustapha was a great guide and very accommodating. He kept our abilities in mind all through out the hike. Highly recommend him and this tour!!

Natasha obviously did a lot of research because she had a wealth of knowledge on local history. I have lived here 3 years. When my brother came to visit I choose Brass Monkey and it by far exceeded all the other tours I've been on.
This tour exceeded our expectations at every level. Natasha, our tour guide, was an absolute delight and a fountain of information. She did an excellent job of describing the history, architecture and famous citizens of Asheville.
We had the best of times with Natasha. She filled our heads with so many interesting facts about the area at the same time she as fun to be with. I am so looking forward to doing a hike with her next time.

This tour includes a safety training, too, making it a good choice for beginner horseback riders and children.
Had a great guide, got a chance to learn about the history of the area. Had all our questions answered and was even given some suggestions on other hikes and waterfalls to visit. So we went to Rainbow Falls and hiked that it was great
We had the most wonderful time hiking the trails and seeing the waterfalls. We even had the opportunity to see the park rangers stocking the stream. A great day for sure. We will do it again next time we are in the area.
On these Private Waterfall Tours, you will get to enjoy the falls up close and with ease. We specializes in taking tours to hidden gems and locally-known waterfalls, uncluttered by foot traffic and crowds.

This was exactly what we wanted. A 30 minute drive, we hiked and saw a few waterfalls. The hike wasn't too intense but wasn't just flat land. we drove to a different spot. stopped and had a picnic lunch. for our group, the timing was just right - not too long. we got some great pictures and our guide was AMAZING!!!!!
My friend and I did the Waterfall Mania Tour with Brass Monkey Photography, Natasha was our amazing tour guide. She picked us up at our area hotel and drove us, along with another booked guest, to the DuPont National Forest where we began our hike which took us to our first stop at Triple Falls. We had time to take pictures and she was available to answer photography questions to us who's main focus was on photographing the magnificent falls. Our next stop was High Falls. The trail was listed as moderate and our pace was very good. She was proactive and accommodating to all hikers equally; she provided walking sticks, bottled water and answered any questions we had. She was amazingly knowledgeable about the Asheville and surrounding areas. We experienced a rain shower while viewing the High Falls and she had ponchos available for everyone. After our return hike to the parking lot, our next stop was Looking Glass Falls; Pisgah National Forest. Again, we found the experience awesome; the beauty, the relaxed atmosphere; the interactions and the bonding we had experienced among us by this time was all good. After leaving this area we headed out to find a comfortable place to conclude our tour with a picnic lunch, provided by Natasha. I would have no reservation booking another tour with Brass Monkey Photography and would highly recommend the service to anyone who is interested in waterfalls and hiking the area trails.
Our guide Natasha was awesome! As we drove & hiked she told us about the area and was a delight to talk to. She also provided recommendations for our stay in Asheville. Additionally, she supplied us with a wonderful spread for lunch that included gluten-free items for me and my sister. I highly recommend using her!
