The Auckland Sky Tower is more than simply the tallest building in New Zealand; it’s a geographic landmark for everyone in Auckland, stretching so high above the City of Sails that any pedestrian just needs to look skyward for an idea of just where they are. Rising 1,076 feet (328 meters) above the pavement, the tower is the tallest man-made structure in the Southern Hemisphere, making the three viewing platforms ideal spots to soak up the Auckland cityscape and its iconic harbor from all angles.
Aside from the observation decks, the tower also features adrenaline-filled activities like the SkyWalk and SkyJump that take you to the edge—and further—plus multiple restaurants offering panoramic views of Auckland for up to 50 miles (80 kilometers), including Orbit, Auckland’s only 360-degree revolving restaurant. At the base of the Sky Tower is Sky City Casino, as well as two dozen bars and restaurants. From the bustling bars at the base to the metal pinnacle at the top, the Auckland Sky Tower is a lightning rod of activity in the middle of Auckland’s downtown.
The Auckland Sky Tower is accessible by foot from Queen Street, and there is a parking lot with reasonable rates. By bus, disembark at Victoria Street station. Price of admission includes access to the viewing platform at 726 feet (220 meters) above street level, as well as the observation level and the Sky Lounge Café and Bar. Activities such as SkyJump and SkyWalk incur an extra charge. All children ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult.
