To say that beer in Australia is kind of a big deal might be considered an understatement. If there is anything I’ve learned in my nearly 4 years of living in Sydney, it is that the drink of choice by many young Aussies is a good, cold beer. While the wine industry and consumption of wine ranks high with the same crowd, the climate and the laid-back lifestyle of Australia generally calls for a beer, usually paired with some of that famous Australian food.
Beer lovers will thoroughly enjoy the culture in Australia. As a visitor, you can partake in a brewery tour or two (like the brewery tours in Sydney), or just stop in a pub where both beers of large and small production tend to hit the taps.
