This was a great tour! We were picked up from our hotel and taken in a small group (8 people total) all around Provence. We were able to see a lot of the countryside that would have been hard to know about and get to by ourselves. Our was very professional and knew a lot about the region. She gave great recommendations as well! I would definitely go on this tour again!
For my first visit to Europe, I knew a small group tour of the area around our Avignon base would be good background. Gordana provided a detailed narrative with charm and wit while conveying us smoothly through unique villages and beautiful countryside. Special places were Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes, Roussillon (a wonderful lunch stop), Saint Rémy de Provence, and finally Pont du Gard, the stunning Roman aquaduct. Gordana’s upbeat energy brings a lot of life to the past and present of this fascinating region. Highly recommended!

Well planned half day trip
, Nov 2019
Guillaume was our guide and driver and was extremely knowledgeable about French history and kept us informed and amused throughout the trip. Good amount of times at the Pont du Gard, but could have done with more time in Nimes to see more of the arena. Uzes was also interesting and gave us taste of the area.
Gordano was an excellent and friendly guide who provided lots of great information. She gave us time for pictures, and made special stops to allow us to do so. Six of us in her comfortable van, water bottles provided which was a nice touch. Definitely recommend this tour with Gordano (sp?).

Small Group Provence and Lavender Museum Day Trip from Avignon
, Aug 2019
Was a very pleasant day. Visited a huge market to start the morning and then visited a lavender distillery which was average. We visited Gordes and another hilltop village which was lovely. Despite being a full day, I felt we could of had more time in the villages and the tour driver knowledge of the area and things in general seemed limited. We managed to see some lovely lavender fields even in late july. I would still recommend this tour to anyone as was a lovely day out.

Half-Day Van Gogh & Carrières de Lumières Tour from Avignon
, Jan 2020
Excellent guide Jacques led our small group through the Van Gogh places. Really nice to see those places and beyond. Amazing multimedia show in Carrieres des Lumieres, really worth to see and we had enough time, as we were very flexible. Time flied so quickly. Merci.
Jacques was a perfect guide, knowledgeable and kind, and let us linger for longer than the tour should have lasted and showed us special places upon request that we were interested in seeing. 10/10 wonderful day discovering Provence through the eyes of Van Gogh.
Had like slight miscommunication with tour agency but was al good and sorted. We were lucky to have our own private tour with Jacq. Weather also wasn't great. Guides english isn't greatest, but good enough to have conversation and make it interesting. Has pleasant manner and knowledgable about region and sights in area. Started with Van Goh tour visiting sights of note in Arles, but highlight was definitely Carrieres des Lumieres worth it just by itself, all other hack tours didn't have this incorporated so super glad with this decision. Ended tour at small village Les Baux with picturesque views of valley and some interesting little shops, we didn't spend long here but use it for some photo ops. Then drop off back at hotel, he even offered to drop us off at papel palace super nice guy.

Full-Day Provence Villages and Lavender Fields Tour from Avignon
A great day, even though it rained
, Aug 2019
Unfortunately, the day we planned our Provence Villages and Lavender Fields tour it rained hard. Fortunately, our driver, Gilles, reworked the itinerary and drove us to the location of the remaining lavender fields first. We started out near Sault. The lavender fields were sparse (end of July), but we knew that would be the case. Nevertheless, they ticked the box for seeing and smelling the beautiful lavender and bucolic French countryside. Our shoes and pant legs were quite muddied due to the rain, but we were able to get some good lavender field shots before moving on to Sault. Sault was a charming village. We purchased some nice lavender products there, which was good because there weren't too many better shopping opportunities after. We had a lavender flavored ice cream. The ice cream was great quality, but the lavender was a bit strong. I would recommend another flavor. I grabbed a small sandwich at the boulangerie, because it was unclear where we would have lunch given the rain and detours. The boulangerie was fantastic and we got a peek at the bread oven. We then went to Rousillon, which is just beautiful. Fortunately, the rain had subsided and we were able to stroll around unfettered by the rain and enjoy a nice lunch on a rear patio overlooking the valley. We ate at one of the two restaurants across from the Hotel de Ville. The food was just so-so, but the service was very pleasant and the view fantastic. Others that opted for restaurants without the views reported better food. We then went near Gordes. This part of the tour was a little weird. Gilles told us he could not drive us to the center and drop us, but we could walk to it and return. He mentioned that there wasn't much to see. It looked too far to comfortably walk to, so we all took photos and loaded up and took off. Later, we actually drive through Gordes and he asked if we wanted to stop and look around. It actually looked interesting and worth a walk around, but we were all tired by that time and opted to keep moving. We also went to the Abbaye to Senanque, which is the quintessential Abbaye you see in photos with gorgeous lavender growing in front of it. Unfortunately, the lavender was not in full force when we visited. There were only small, baby plants in front. However, there were some other fields a bit further away. We opted to take a tour of the Abbaye itself, which was quite beautiful. The last stop was really nice, Fontaine de Vaucluse. Gilles did a great job.

Saint Remy, Les Baux and Pont du Gard Small Group Day Trip
Saint Remy, Les Baux and more
, Sep 2019
Just excellent way to visit the overall area in the beginning of our vacation. Jeremy was excellent. We all enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot. We then went back to key areas where we wanted to spend more time. Many thanks to Jeremy. Nelson Burns
Journey back in time to Roman and medieval Provence on this half-day tour from Avignon. Visit Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to see the triumphal arch and funeral monument. Continue to the rocky hilltop village of Les Baux de Provence to explore key sites like St Vincent Church, the Hôtel des Porcelets and the ruins of Baux’s medieval castle, and finish with a stop at the UNESCO-listed Pont du Gard, a towering Roman aqueduct.
We met our guide Amar at the Visitors Info Center near the Central train station. He was prompt and friendly from the start. There was only one other couple in our tour and we were in a nice van. Amar was thoroughly knowledgeable about the area and he had a quality hand's free microphone attached to his driver's seat, so that we could hear his excellent commentary all through the day. The itinerary was to see the town of Roussillon, Gorde, Les Baux and Pont du Gard. These places in the Luberon area of Provence are so nice that any tour would be beautiful, but Amar gave us good hints of highlights at the stops and he parked the car in the best location to make it shorter walking and he was in the best location when we returned to the car. The pretty town of Gorde was just to be seen from a good vantage point, so we were pleasantly surprised when he also drove through the tiny town. We had a 45 minute stop at the famous red clay town of Roussillon which is not enough to walk all through the town, but Amar showed us a great place with a few shops, restrooms, cafe and fantastic view of the city and of the valley below. On the way to Les Baux we drove passed by St. Remy where Van Gogh stayed in the clinic. Across the road from the clinic Amar drove in front of the Roman triumphal arch that was part of the nearby ruins of the city of Glanum from 27BC - first century AD. A short distance away is Les Baux that sits on top of a steep hill that can be a challenge to hike up the parking lot and the hill, so when Amar let us out right at the entry to Les Baux & we were able to make the most of our 45 minute visit there. the last stop was at the Pont du Gard three tier Roman ruin. Again Amar let us out right at the walking path and while we walked across the aquaduct he drove around to our exit point and we could get right into the vehicle - personalized first class service !! Amar asked us and the other couple if we wanted to be dropped off near our hotel area or some other part of Avignon and again that was so helpful to be able to be in the spot best for us.
In order to see more of the beautiful Luberon area of Provence it would best to have several days in each of the areas we saw, but this excursion was a great way to be introduced and see the highlights in order to return sometime.
Our thanks to Viator and Amar !
Journey back in time to historic Provence on this half-day tour from Avignon. Visit the UNESCO-listed Pont du Gard – a towering Roman aqueduct – and the rugged hilltop village of Les Baux de Provence to wander and explore key sites like St Vincent Church, Hôtel des Porcelets and the ruins of Baux’s medieval castle. Our guide personalized this tour to our wishes since we had such a small group. He allowed us additional time in Aix en Provence because we were enjoying ourselves so much. He even purchased each of us a treat in a local bakery and had several recommendations for lunch depending on our preferences. We were all very pleased with his professionalism and personalized service.
Great shore excursion of three regional highlights!
, Sep 2019
We knew we wanted to see Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, and Marseille during our time in port, but it was difficult to find excursions (through the ship or independently) that provided all three. This one fit the bill! Posted this excursion on our CruiseCritic roll call and filled a private group of 7 quickly. Romain worked with us to change the time to suit our ship. Although he had a family situation arise, he arranged for his colleague, Benjamin, to escort us. Benjamin was gracious, patient, and informative throughout the day. We really appreciated his extensive walking tour in Aix-en-Provence, the orientation in Cassis, and the orientation to the Marseille cathedral. We also liked the balance of structured, guided time and the opportunity for free time. We were disappointed to not see the calanques or Cape Canaille, but the road was closed - not Benjamin's fault. Thanks for a great experience! Would definitely recommend.
Our guide, Romain, was very personable and informative. The group was a nice small size of about 15 which is perfect.
We rode on a small tour bus - it had decorations over some of the windows which was not the best, but we sat in the back with the clear window. It was air conditioned and comfortable.
He gave us free time here and there which was great, the market in Aix was awesome, I wish we had more time in it.
The only thing that was disappointing was that we didn't get to go on the boat tour in Cassis that I had read about in other tours, but that's my fault for not noticing it wasn't on the stop.
All in all I would recommend it. I was worried since there were no reviews, but it was great.

This was an excellent day tour out of Avignon. Our guide, Nicolas, was informative, professional and comfortable to be with for the day. He spoke English so we had not communication issues. Nicolas obviously is passionate about his country, his region and his job!. The tour included four tastings and lunch at a picturesque Chateau. The lunch was excellent. You will see amazing scenery and a lot of vineyards. We truly enjoyed this tour.
We had an amazing experience on our day long wine tasting tour! My husband and I booked this for our honeymoon and we are so happy we did. Our tour guide David took us around the southern Rhône Valley region and taught us so much - he was the best! We would love to do this again someday
